    My snakes are my friends and companions. I am disabled and mostly housebound . My snakes truly help me with depression and loneliness...

    That said...read your rental agreement. Fight it if it doesn't say no animals, pets, reptiles.

    If you are breaking your contract by having your snakes...MOVE! What's your priority here? That apt/house? Or your animals?

    I've never understood the "getting rid of (insert dog, cat, hamster or reptile) because I'm moving thing...find a place that DOES allow them! They are out there.

    In my state, a landlord can't just enter for checks without prior notice.

    And in every state, only a JUDGE evictes a person. Your landlord must file paperwork through the courts. It gets a date, where you can and should appear. Depending on what's happened, the judge makes the decision and either signs the eviction order or not. Then the order is sent to the Sheriff's office, where they execute the order.

    No individual can evict anyone. Even if your landlord gets an order, if that person shows up without a sheriff and touched your things, it's a criminal act and you can have them arrested.

    Evictions are no easy matter. However, you need to read your lease and find out what it says regarding pets, in particular reptiles. If that language, against you owning them is there, you've made your landlord's job a little easier.

    Find out the process in your state. A good resource is landlord/tenant disputes. Every city should have this office in their housing authority.
