I don't even get it, because I dress reasonably well (10-year-old leather jacket that looks new because I care for it.. and I am usually even wearing office-type clothing from my office job..)
It was moreso when Mark owned his construction business (which he still dabbles in.) We would walk into a store and Mark would look like Joe Everyman in his paint-spattered boots, caulk-stained shirt and ripped jeans. But he is a worker through and through, and anyway..
So he wanted this watch to "stick it" to people who see him as a metalhead punk. And he got it :)

I remember shopping in my work clothes at a sears and roebuck , welding in a dirty shop for 10 hrs. . I was pulling about 900.00 a week after taxes, not too bad. I wanted to see a binder for collectable stamps, about one hundred. the clerk told me he wasn't wanting to show it to me since I probaby couldn't AFFORD it.
What does a clerk at a sears make??:rofl::rofl::rofl:

I know; it is ridiculous. At the time that we were computer shopping, Mark owned the business and was bringing in about what you just described in a week. Now he is an independent tattoo artist. It is actually hard for even me, to determine his monthly income. Some days are $50 days, some can be $1k days!
Life is different nowadays. They can't pigeonhole us into low class and high class. Then again, the biggest thing I have learned about the world: Class in itself is not buyable. Someone either has it, or they are obnoxious.. many, both rich and poor, fit that bill!

I got a lot of clothes, dishes for my apartment, perfume from my hunny (Lamb by Gwen Stefani...it smells soooo good), and a freezer for my rats!! (from my parents...hehe they thought it was so weird, but I said it is what I really needed). Glad everyone had a good Christmas!

I got little things, I got Flash Focus for my DS, HIM cd, and going to Hamburg was kind of a present, I got my Beauty snake there... Also, I'm getting a Lavender Motley Corn from SerpenCo, so that's kind of a present since my mom is giving me $30 from her PayPal for me to buy it... I didn't like Christmas this year.. just didn't feel it as much.

I really didn't feel into the spirit, either. It was the weather I think; it is all green/brown grass, rain, and wind here. I am not complaining; you don't have to snowplow rain. But we did have nice family gatherings, which is what matters most I guess.
