Sorry to hijack but I'm curious. Not looking for an argument more of a discussion.

But you say that you have guns for "protection" but aren't you just protecting yourself from other people with guns? I was also curious about how easy it is to get a gun in the states? Is it really like bowling for columbine (sp?) and you get one for making a new bank account?

In Canada I went through a 48 hour course to be able to hold a gun that isn't mine to shoot an animal. I still have more tests and courses to go through until I can legally own a rifle or shotgun. I am very scared of guns (as most everyone I know is). The guns I have used I am very cautious with and would never imagine carrying one around with me.

in my whole life I have never seen a handgun unless carried by a security truck worker or a cop.

And about the people kill people not guns I would have to respectfully disagree. It is so easy to squeeze a trigger and have your problem go away then to have to think about it. Like stabbing or strangling or something. Takes a lot less brain power for a boom then getting your hands dirty.

I own a few guns. They are for hunting and recreational shooting. I don't carry. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, but I don't think that gives them the right to insult others with differing opinions.

Also how the hell did we get from guns, to snakes? Guns were designed to kill people, and they are just treated them like toys and then someones kid ends up getting into their gun and shooting someone else.

Of coruse I don't expect to sway anyone, I know thats even more pointless than anything else.

A responsible gun owner does not treat a gun like a toy, nor would they put themselves in a situation where a child could get access to their guns.

By the way...it will be easier to "sway" people when you learn to spell...

Says the guy who lives under the "rule" of a monarchy with no real power. All your royal family does is cost you money to no real purpose. Guns are not pointless - they exist for varied purposes from hunting to self defense to plain recreation. (Ever shot one? It's fun, at least in the context of clay pigeons or paper targets.)

To the person who said guns for protection exist only to protect from others with guns, I have to say that's not true. You find yourself at a distinct advantage vs an attacker with a knife or other non-gun weapon if you have a gun, whereas you'd be mostly helpless unarmed. (This argument presumes you're not a black belt in some martial art, etc.) Also, the police can't be everywhere at once - carrying a gun is simply a decision to take responsibility for your own safety. I don't own or carry at the moment, but recent events in my life have led me toward the position that it might be a good idea to start.

To the OP: does the slide ride inside the frame on your CZ? It looks like it might from the photo. I'm not sure if I like the look, but it's definitely unique, and as long as it shoots well and you're happy with it, it's all good, right?

Isn't it true that in the UK people are unable to watch football without engaging in violence and hooliganism? Shouldn't football be banned as it is a pointless tradition?

the oddest thing ive ever seen was a car dealership offering an ak-47 with every car purchase... but that was right after bush was no longer in office... many went scrambling for ammunition and firearms right after he left office. it is my right to own a firearm just like its my right to have no censorship on my internet. i hunt and i have taken my safety course for it which was a 2 day course on firearm safety and other assorted hunting knowledge. you seem to think that people dont fear guns any more than you canadians? false its the same. hell... right here in pennsylvania. and many other states. you DONT even have to cc. you can open cary in many businesses. walmart is even pro gun. i can walk into walmart right now with my pistol on my hip and the employees arent allowed to say a word to me about it. ( i dont personally like walmart however. walmart destroys hardworking businesses around the globe.)

It is better to have and not need then to need and not have.

I would rather take responsibility for protecting my family in my house than to depend on the police that are at least 10 minutes away.

In my country, at least for now, it is my right to chose if I want to own a firearm. "NEED" has noting to do with it.

I have never understood people who fear an inanimate object.

GOD BLESS THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA! :salute:
