We ate Mexican from a local restaurant tonight. Just got a combo platter deal and split it. Beef burrito, beef enchilada, crunchy beef tacos, bean tostada, chili rellenos, Mexican rice, refried beans, chips & salsa... Really regretting that one. Good Mexican is so hard to come by here in Ohio (Taco Bell is waaaay better, how sad is that?). We were spoiled when we lived in Texas, though. Where we lived in Texas, you couldn't find a bad Mexican joint.
Yesterday I made stuffed pepper soup. It came out mediocre. I accidentally over seasoned it.
After hearing about the tater tot pie (we always called it tater tot casserole), I think I might make that tomorrow. We haven't had it in a looooong time.

I'd like to give a big shout out to the food of the gods: hot dogs. Also known as the essence of perfection and my salvation.

Barf. You and my husband. Must be a diabetic/hotdog thing... Hot dogs are nasty. I can only stomach them in roll ups if they are the Hebrew kosher dogs.

I think you mean a hot dog with pickles, bbq sauce and ketchup......

I think what you really meant was dijon mustard, diced onions and jalepenos with maybe a smidge of saurkraut

Smidge...more like a smidgen of hot dog to go with all of the sauerkraut!
I like a good coarse mustard and fresh, raw red onions too.

They do have to be natural casings though, otherwise it's just tubular baloney.
Ahh, who am I kidding? It's all good.
-
Yeah, it's like eating sushi or caviar. If you thinks raw fish or fish eggs, then it's nasty. That's why it's called sushi not raw fish stuff and caviar not fish eggs.
So you don't have to think about it. Lol.

Haha. I loooove smokies but if I'm eating one and think that there's pork in it, I can't finish it and will not be able to eat them for awhile.
I've tasted shrimp before. I know it's good and tastes like chicken, but I can't bring myself to eat it because it's fish! I'm weird, I know.

I don't care. I'll think about it. I rarely eat them anyways but do enjoy them every once in awhile

Re: Delicious Food Appreciation Thread
Lol. I like raw fish and fish eggs. Straight from the fish itself is the best. I've had raw beef too, which was actually pretty good. I like cracking raw eggs over noodles.
I don't really like hot dogs. But I get the craving to eat a Costco hot dog at least once a year.

With the drippings from a prime rib pan. Heat the pan and drippings to boiling hot in the oven. Then pour over the top a mix of eggs, milk, flour, and salt. I can post recipe if you want.

You should teach me how to make all your awesome stuff. In return, I'll make you a list of the top five items at five fast food restaurants of your choice!

Yorkshire pudding sounds gross

Here is one for the hot dog lovers: all beef dogs wrapped in puff pastry and baked until golden brown. You'll never reach for a bun again.
Also, Yorkshire pudding is amazing when made right. Like a very egg-y but light bread.

It's super easy to make!
This is fairly close to my recipe, I'm just too lazy to get it and type it all out, http://allrecipes.com/recipe/bread-pudding-ii/
6 slices day-old bread
2 tablespoons butter, melted
1/2 cup raisins (optional)
4 eggs, beaten
2 cups milk
3/4 cup white sugar
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
Break bread into small pieces into an 8 inch square baking pan. Drizzle melted butter or margarine over bread. If desired, sprinkle with raisins.
In a medium mixing bowl, combine eggs, milk, sugar, cinnamon, and vanilla. Beat until well mixed. Pour over bread, and lightly push down with a fork until bread is covered and soaking up the egg mixture.
Bake in the preheated oven for 45 minutes, or until the top springs back when lightly tapped.

Does it matter if it's white or wheat? Have you ever done it with golden raisins, or cranberries?
