way too much doesn't make sense about this trevor, he wants his money back thats all it is and he's trashing a breeder who admittedly screwed up his packaging, WE ALL KNOW that, but the fact is that trevor still seems is up to some shananigans and i feel bad for matt getting dragged in the mud for this, way to go trevor you did what you wanted!
you tattled on the kid down the street and will prolly get a new shiny bike...
if you really were so heartbroken pay the 50$ to have the snake euthanized properly!
How could you possibly feel bad for Matt here? This entire problem started when he shipped the way he did. That's more than likely what caused the problems and it could have been avoided.
There are no 5 min penalties here, you get one shot to get it right and another to make it right if need be.

Re: BAD GUY-Matt Oakley
We have been in touch with Matt Oakley, and I am having some TRUST in that his shipping will exceed SYR standards moving forward.
Shipping in a plain box is unacceptable, irresponsible, against the strict SYR TOS (which you must check off on EVERY TIME you book a shipment), but most of all, as has been pointed out in the thread, this type of shipping jeopardizes ALL OF US and the entire industry.
Word also travels fast through a relatively small community, so whether or not this is the first issue after 5 years of shipping in uninsulated boxes, this must be the last instance of sub-standard shipping with the ShipYourReptiles.com service.
Our future for Matt is a one-shot deal, and he seems to understand that, and we are on the same page now. One more single shipment that is not properly done, properly packaged and insulated, and the account will be deactivated.
To reiterate for all, a properly insulated box prevents temperature swings EITHER WAY, and an insulated box should ALWAYS be used for reptile shipments. In addition, the insulation provides significant structural support to the package, one of millions moving through the system.
The ShipYourReptiles.com shipping standards insist upon a TRIPLE CONTAINER for the reptile. A secure bag or deli, inside an insulated box, inside a cardboard box.
These are not lofty standards, or unreasonable requirements, these are simple industry standards, and everyone else follows them.
I can't set customer service standards for others, but certainly the thread is a good example of the value of taking care of your customer, to nearly any degree, before the situation/relationship deteriorates and affects/infects those far and wide.
And one other shipping suggestion- send tracking numbers individually. Sending a group of numbers to a group of customers violates confidentiality, and I know first hand that those tracking number emails bridged some quick gaps between customers, allowing them to compare notes, beefs, and build some steam. You shot yourself in the foot with that one Matt : )
But it can heal, and best of luck with that, sincerely.

great hockey reference..... u know y i'm defending the guy... is b/c even if it's not his sole mean of living, there isn't a reason to grill the guy like this, he made a mistake in the shipping said he learnt his lesson, move on, it's impossible to know what really happened with the two ppl, both are saying the other is lying, just let it go...... no one else seemed to throw the guy a bone so why not, not everyone is perfect

Re: BAD GUY-Matt Oakley
I got bored of reading this by about page 13 or so....
Trevor, did you ever POST PICTURES showing this snake with snot running out of her nose? Surely you can show actual photos to prove this animals poor condition? And I won't respect the vet bill until you have an actual scanned copy, not just text that you could have written yourself.
If you showed these two things, I wouldn't have any reason to doubt your case.

This whole thread is about accusations of someone not acting in a professional manner. It's a thread about an important subject matter. Did we really need a snide comment like this? What was the point of this comment other than to stir up the membership and take a low shot at someone?

I think it is the right to say if you look at his house where he keeps his snakes ! If he can't even clean his house how do you see him cleaning his snakes you have to look at the while picture ! I don't see it being a low shot at somebody ! Look him up and then take the whole Matt crap is all true and it's his own fault ! There is nobody to blame but himself. It's just like me going to his house and seeing how the snakes are treated ! No diff then a pet store if its clean for the most part you know the animals are takin care of so i see the whole picture being a professional manner !

Re: BAD GUY-Matt Oakley
You gotta be kidding. With all the crap this guy has pulled, you're picking out a couple pieces of aspen or styrofoam on the floor to make a big deal about? If you use loose bedding, there's going to be some on floor.

No matter how much you clean when you have animals things get dirty. Styrofoam is very messy especially if you cut it yourself. IM sure he wasnt thinking of sweeping up before he took the pic. Just becasue you see some aspen on the floor does not mean someone is a bad keeper or they dont clean there animals. I have seen plenty of pictures and videos of large scale breeders that take GREAT care of there animals but might have some aspen or something on the floor. I use newspaper and when I clean my cages I still usually end up with something spilled out on my floor.

Have YOU read the thread? You quoted a series of pictures on here and then commented about cleaning his house. People are going to assume you're talking about the quoted pics and I see no reason to make a comment like that about those pics.
If you would have posted the pics from KS and commented on THEM it would be different.

Yep - you're a real hero. What did we all do without you?
Trevor said his piece over at the BOI and laid his case out here. This thread is history.
Nobody needs you stirring the pot. Just like nobody needed you threatening a 14 year old with a beat down. Although if I had to pick the lesser of two evils, this e-fight version of you running around Trevor and Matt yelling "fight! fight!" is probably a step up the maturity ladder for you.
The internet tough guy act doesn't sit well on anybody. So do your self a favor and drop it.

Re: BAD GUY-Matt Oakley
-Matt that is poor packaging and poor service for your customers.
-You are the kind of person that would jeopardize this hobby for us and our future kids.
-SYR went through a lot to find us to share our animals and for you to disobey the TOS you messed up bad.
-Knowing you had a unhealthy snake in your hands and send it to the next person you messed up even more.
-Looking at your bloods on your myspace sickens me too. Overfed and seems like you only care about yourself. :colbert:
2k-Hope everything works out. Love your new(matrix and breit) pick ups.
