no the flour goes across doorways or rooms - if the snake crawls thru it, ull know which way he went. u can try putting a mouse in a bag then ull hear the snake move into the bag. the trick with using plastic bags is sitting absolutly still in the dark so the snake will feel its safe to come out, another tip for using plastic bags is avoid air ducts, if the heat turns on the airflow will move the bag and ull think its ur snake.... how big is he ??

I really hope you find your lil friend. My 70g spider has already gotten out twice. The first time i had left the top open a little while changing her water and then the second time my 3 yo son had figured out how to climb up on the counter and open the top up. Then he came and told me he was playing with her so i went to look thinking he was just looking through the glass like he always does, but nope she had already escaped. I just put a towel on the floor over a heat pad, then put her favorite hide on the towel. It has worked both times. I just make sure it is out in the open so it is very visible to her.

Be very careful when you're opening and closing the dresser please.

Try leaving a thawed f/t rat or mouse in closed box in the middle of the room you think he got out in overnight. Make a single hole that he'll barely be able to fit in on top of the box.

How has your snake escaped twice? Exactly what is wrong with your enclosure that is allowing for your snake to escape?

Nothing is I guess I didn't put one of my clips on tight enough...MY dog is smelling more than usual in my room. I am going to put a thawed mouse by my heat lamp.

How far can he scent the mouse?

Far enough. Make sure to keep the rooms door closed and keep the dog out of it.. if the dog does find it when your not there he will probably try to eat it.

Did you check everywhere in the enclosure? You may want to invest in a slide-on top cage or a tub instead of this cage that he seems to be getting out of so easily.

Ok, I am going to have a heat lamp clipped on to a tub, then thaw the mouse out put it there on a plastic baggy, with his hive. Close to my door, cuz my door was open during school when he escaped, should I turn lights off?

Do you think this will work?
