Just buy one that you like.

What about if the breeder has the documentation to trace it back to the origional line?

IMO all pastels are the same. The slight differences are due to selective breeding by the originator of the line. I think once the original breeder is no longer the one breeding them and controling what females they are bred to they should just be called pastels. I know my opinion is in the minority on this one, but I just don't see the point in all of these pastel "lines".

Personally I don't think the line matters at all. There are good and bad examples of all of them. Choose the individual, and try to see what the parents look like too. The looks of the normal parent is just as important as the looks of the pastel parent.

I agree! if you want a nice pastel, you want both parents to look good as they age, not just the pastel parent. I think lines are pretty much useless as a lot of them look the same to me. I have a Lemon female who is one generation removed from NERD, her dad was produced by them. I think she is a looker and is holding her color well. I call her a pastel because that is what she is. If she were bought directly from NERD I *might* call her a lemon pastel...

I have to go with Bell line since thats what my male is. But like alot of others posted. Shop around and pick an animal that you like. Again like said all lines have pretty ones and not so pretty ones. It all depends on what your looking for.
