    Bobs Pro Panels for a T8 to a T12 size enclosure cost $90 to $135 w/shipping.
Not to bust chops but I say go with the best if your spending your hard earned money... I personally know some Pro panels that are still running 10 years + without a Hiccup.
Do RBI's? I don't know, but with the problems they had in the past between melting, off gasing and a few fires you couldn't give me one. Thats not to say those problems haven't been corrected (IDK).. But theres a reason Bob makes Huge Pro Panels for Zoo's ect...
I love my Herpstat & Pro Panel combo. A piece of mind goes a long way.

You mean the same person that posted here and a few other forums back in 2016 that badmouthed and claimed they had 2 back to back failures with RBI RHPs thus causing a panic about RBI products even though there has been no documented issues with their products?

Both these products are well made and will operate for a long period of time if installed and regulated correctly. Both will fail horribly if installed against recommended guidelines and run without a basic understanding of what you are doing. Same thing with heat tape. If you install it where tubs rub against it it will fail. Not the tape's fault, your fault for not knowing what you are doing.

I have no concerns what so ever with my RBI purchase and while it may fail like any other product, I have no fear of it doing so. RBI has be amazing to deal with and answered all my questions. I have no offgassing, no warping, no excessive heat, no shut off from failure, and have not had my house burn down because I know how to properly install and manage heat sources.

It's perfectly fine to not want to use something but it's not fine to spread misinformation about a current product. Go with pro products if the sales spiel hooks you but don't just buy it because third hand information scares you into doing so.

Just a heads up, I am also a "phone-call-aphobe" and was able to get a price quote from Pro-products and all my questions answered through an email on the contact page of their website. Definitely worth a try if you absolutely hate phone calls. :)

Good to know he'll take email inquiries. Phone is a no-go for me and I'd like to see what the prices would be for a RHP for a tub setup.

I don't know anything about a person that posted here in 2016. The reason I said Im not sure if all RBI's problems have been corrected is because it was several years ago. It was known about throughout the entire reptile community not just because someone posted nonsense. If I remember correctly RBI installed some kind of fuse after people started to report incidents. Just because you're unaware of it doesn't mean I'm spreading misinformation, if anything that's what you're doing by telling me I'm basically wrong. Hahahahaha

basically what ive gathered: go with whatever your heart desires but pro products are the best of the best and phone anxiety seems to be a common thing

All I am saying and I am not accusing you directly Mr Sully, is do research. Both products have had problems in the past, this is documented, albeit second hand information. If neither made improvements then it would be obvious both are not fit to use. That however is not the case, both have improved over the years and both now are solid products that are safe and well constructed products. Nobody in their right mind should ever buy a used heat panel or used heat tape, that is just asking for problems because you have no idea if the previous owner installed them incorrectly or damaged them. Go with whichever one you learn is the one you want, not simply because you have fear of something that does not exist.

Didn't learn the first time, did you? Stop bashing a product you have NO experience with. You were doing the same thing in the other thread. You can be a pro product cheerleader with your pom poms but if you're going to spread misinformation, at least post your source.

Still waiting for you to provide me with that UL certs you claim pro heat panels have.

http://www.buzzfile.com/business/Pro...s-845-628-8960 (for their address and business category to refine a search)

There are no entries in UL's database for pro-products. If it is not there, it does not exist plain and simple. Both use UL listed heating elements but the products themselves are not and most likely will never be because these are small companies and can't afford the cost of certification.

This is one example of doing research. It is also my point that UL certification isn't the issue here nor should it be a determining factor. Neither products are UL listed.
