It makes me depressed the amount of apathy I am seeing from SNAKE people on this bill... if we don't stand up for our brothers and sisters that keep larger snakes, there won't be anyone left to stand up for us when they come for our smaller guys.

Try re reading what i stated. I asked a question about if ball pythons were on the list. Never did i state that i dont care about the others at all. Think before you speak please.

My personal opinion is not only should we continue to fight for the rights of ALL reptile owners but also start a campaign to expose the extremist ideology of the HSUS. I feel it is a crime that they run commercials of starving and neglected animals to raise $ when almost all that $ goes to their salaries and to the lobbyists. It is misleading and ironically takes the $ of people who love animals the most to use against them to take away their rights.

If people were aware of how they operate and manipulate the public they would be disgusted and all the politicians that support them would run for cover(like the cockaroaches they really are, LOL)

Sorry, went back and reread your posts... all I saw was you complaining about how tough it will be to sell your pythons in state. Will be even tougher when they come back for a full out ban. Happened with snakeheads in the aquarium trade and no one said anything.

You did not state that you didn't care about others, but you also didn't state support either. Apathy.

If we keep looking for the rosy side of things, a lot of the reptile species we keep will go the same way as the snakeheads.

Now is not the time for us to bicker with each other....it is the time to ban together and come up with inovative ideas to reach out and have others listen. While I agree one way would be to show more of those videos regarding where the money HSUS gets goes. Now I am sure that each of us has TV stations that do "undercover" work regarding companies. Maybe we should report HSUS and try to get them to do a story on where the money goes. Maybe if we get them enough bad press on them while continuing to contact our reps...it would put them in a not so great light. ?? Just ideas...which is what we should be putting out here. Also what about contacting some of the more conservative news companies...ie Fox. They are NOT for bigger government which is exactly what this is. There are also talk radio stations in every state...typically not for big government either.

Anyone else have some good ideas to put out there. Now is the time to be innovative and unprecedented. (probably spelled that last one wrong....but you get the idea)

Also lets get some stats up on here so when some of us that maybe don't know everything can speak more clearly.

What is the area that these reptiles (if they get out or released) can survive and breed. (not the dorky map HSUS put out)...plueeeeese

What are the numbers in the everglades....and what has been proven to be the negative effect.

What is the real story with the 4 ppl that were killed.

What is the amount of revenue yearly of the reptile trade.

What is the revenue yearly on shipping.

What are the numbers of these snakes in their native land....are any endangered...or starting to be in trouble as a species?

These are things that we need to know...or at least be able to discuss if we do get in touch with someone. You have to be highly informed to win or at least influence a debate.

Folks, remember that the argument that global warming will make larger areas of the US inhabitable by these animals is a LIE. Global warming is going to make our winters HARSHER. Warmer summers will not make up for that, the winters will still kill the snakes.

Ok and one more point...(clearly on a roll)

4 ppl died...which is terrible. However...with that being said...how many ppl died from dog attacks within those years? How many have been paralyzed or killed by horse riding accidents?

    Should those animals be banned??

Not to mention that if global warming continues, the Everglades, Miami, and several other coastal cities will be under water....
