    Lol thanks!

    Side Story:
I was at an antique store today and I put a UV reactive decanter aside in the 'holding area' so I wouldn't have to carry it. When I came back to the register for check-out: I saw the owner examining it intently and he told us that we would have to wait because the 'price was wrong' and he was researching the 'correct' price (on his smartphone).

I told him that I thought consignment stores were selling stuff for their vendors and not lining their own pockets by raising prices on items at checkout. He flushed super red and stared at me-enraged, and I stared back smiling. I thought we were going to have a problem, but, he begrudgingly rang up the sale and then flung the receipt at me and stormed off... I checked Google Reviews of the store and a small percentage of visitors have had similar issues with him. We won't be returning there for a long time.

In hindsight: the owner had been creeping on my gf and I while we were looking around, he must have seen the glass glow green under my UV light. Manganese is not Uranium: he was probably having trouble figuring out why it glowed green for us...and how much he could jack up the price for that...

Thanks! My gf was waiting behind me at the register and she was not paying attention.
She said that she didn't know what was taking so long, and when she turned around I was making an insane smile. She said the owner looked terrified.
If you go inside an antique store and you spot two Cookiezilla statues in the front display case: Then beware...:)

My gf and I went to antique store today in Palmer Massachusetts called 'Antique Junction'. It was a smaller antique store and a bit on the pricey side. My gf found a rare piece of vintage glass for her collection-It was expensive. I brought the item to the front register to set it down-I started making small-talk with the owner while my gf continued to look around.

The owner mentioned that she had just got a box of new 'stock' for the store and asked if I wanted to look through it. The box was just a jumble of vintage glass with no wrapping or packaging to prevent damage. Carefully removing pieces from the box I noticed a rare piece at the bottom that I knew my gf was searching for: I took it out and I jokingly asked the owner of the store if I could get the price that it was marked for ($6 from the 1950's). I think I offended her-because she got really mad and glared daggers at me. I backpedaled super hard-and apologized and told her that I was only joking. I explained that I was well aware of the current value... I think she felt bad for the misunderstanding and offered us the piece I had found for $20 (the value is closer to $100). I accepted the offer, but, then I felt like the 'bad guy'. My gf told me not to care because we were getting overcharged on the first piece, but still...

Anyhow, if you are in the area of Palmer, Massachusetts, and you are looking for antiques: I recommend you stop by and see what you can find. :)

I love a good "treasure hunt" but not anywhere close to being in the area. Happy hunting.

I usually don't pay attention to 'primitive' style art, but this one caught my attention.
    https://ball-pythons.net/forums/cach...ake_qoxvjm.jpg
It is a snake sculpture from the Baga people located on the coast of West Africa.
The information card attached to the piece was pretty generic and unhelpful.
I did some quick research on this piece and it would likely have been swung around wildly by dancers during rituals relating to drought and fertility.

I like it. And I'm sure that's something you'd find useful- for drought if not fertility. :D And dancing to stay in shape, what could go wrong?

Not sure why my email didn't give me a reply. I don't keep any snakes, my last 3 were my cobras and I no longer have them. Just decided I didn't want to keep venomous anymore and then not being able to interact with them without putting myself at risk just made me rethink life decisions. That's how I ended up with my two birds.

Wow, that's a big change, but birds are fascinating too. I spent 20 years safely keeping hots (in addition to many harmless snakes before & after) & I was always trying to get that across to people who thought they wanted to keep hots- that it's more interesting (not to mention a lot less stressful) to have pets you can handle safely. Not just for routine things but it's even worse if they need medical attention. I'm down to just a few snakes now (harmless & all up in years), after keeping so many for decades. I finally quit breeding my own rodents too, & I sure don't miss that!

Life situations & interests evolve, eh? As a young adult, I always wanted a horse, until I took serious lessons for a while & realized how big of a commitment they are. I'm a dog lover too- I'm on my 10th dog now, & while they've always been rescues (adult dogs from shelters), over the years they've also been gradually downsized for practicality from large ones (Dobermans+) to the smallest one yet: I'm currently owned by a Chihuahua. :D She's a fantastic & funny companion- who knew? Animals are great fun, whichever ones we can best relate to & provide for.

In random news I took my gf to 14 antique stores in Maine last Sunday. We left my house at 6am, and got back at 6:30pm.
I didn't take very many photos because I was exhausted from the driving...

I added 3 items to my antique collection, and my gf added 9 to her vintage glass (lol).

I also went to a greenhouse today in New Hampshire, and spotted a hitchhiker...
