My first BP was from a pet store too and I have no regrets. I probably will never buy one from a store again, but at the same time I am glad I did because it got me started and now I have way too many! I actually picked him because of his lighter color, and I really liked the "zig-zag" pattern on his lower back. Thanks for the compliment! I got a really good deal on him also (I think). Someone needs to comment on what they think he is worth though so I can figure out if it really was as good of a price as I thought :D

lol, yeah well he was lucky to find an all-around animal lover because I really didn't like snakes before we got slyder. Oh and this may be just MY opinion but I consider it a MAJOR ISSUE that your gf doesn't like your "snake" :P

MR. Petco--------please call Monroeville Petco and have the humidity fixed on their setup---------I'm sick of seeing the same Ball's with the same stuck shed week after week------------the humidity is @ 25------------temp is 90+.

Wow thats messed up. Luckily I dont work at that one... Believe it or not, when they "trained" me to take care of the reptiles there they basically told me that ball pythons dont need to be misted. I tried to correct them and explain the shedding issue, but who is going to listen to the new guy right? I kept trying to make time to soak the bad ones and remove the eyecaps etc. while casually misting them when not being watched :P So after a few months, I took their reptile specialist test after asking multiple times. Now that I am certified, everyone seems to listen a little more when I try to correct their procedures. Theres still a few things that I cant do anything about, but I am working on it. The more respect I gain from management, the more issues I can correct in the reptile department... Honestly, if you call the Petco hotline and calmly, respectfully explain the issue to them and back it with as much credible info as possible, they will actually call the management of the store and tell them to correct it. If management gets a call about something like that from the corporate hotline, they will probably correct it because they dont want someone higher up stepping in.

Corrupter, just check classifieds for various spider prices... granted if you haggle you will be able to get most of those lowered.

Lol they have a big range, but going off of just that I would say I got a good deal. I got the spider and a really light normal female 500g for $300.
