Thats pretty wild, I've got one girl that rushes out and grabs anything close the moment I open her tub, which is usually me :P:P
It doesn't matter when she last ate, she always reacts this way. I've taken to opening her tub with a hook. I'll open her tub, she rushes out with mouth open and sits there gapping for a few seconds, then she retreats back into her tub again. Then I can open the tub the rest of the way and take her out and handle her without any further trouble. It seems that she just needs to get that first lunge out of the way before she remembers her manners.

I do that also, with Ginger. She is the strongest-feeding snake I own. She has to get a light tap from an empty water bottle if I am doing anything in her tub other than feeding her. Fiesty ladies!
