Anyone else have a super friendly BP?

Serket is a little less interested in the goings on of the room than Strudel, but I think that's probably because Strudel is just hopeful she'll get more food lol. They're both lovely and chill animals who like to casually explore their surrounding when they're out of their enclosures or hang out in my lap. My kids handle them all the time too, no problem. Idk how one would go about starting up one of those reptile outreach programs, but if I get more sweet animal ambassadors like these guys I sure would like to!

My BP doesn't seek attention too much, but she's extremely curious. She used to stay with me all the time while watching TV and now she's one and a half and climbs the (very cold) window will by my bed for some reason! I don't let her on the couch being that she'll get stuck and she's fallen off my bed thrice. (Totally fine BTW.) Never bitten or striked at anyone and enjoys crawling into clothing. I trust toddlers to handle her with close super vision. :D

I had this idea of teaching my class at school about snakes, but that would be rather difficult as I'm a student myself and we have classes of course. 20/23 kids in my class are scared of these snakes, when they've never actually seen one before.

That's so true about Boas being super strong ( at least compared to other types ) . My 7' Boa sometimes wraps himself around my leg and I'm helpless :)

Wonder which species are regarded as THE strongest .

I used to live in NoCal ( Seasde, and Salinas). I have two nephews down in Chula Vista. I will be relocating back to NoCal (Yuba City) at the end of 2016. We can do this though! LoL. Haha. Thanks. Our super friendly albino ball pythons really should meet. Male and female too? We might be on to something sir.

I have two unrelated ball pythons with very sweet personalities, a 2010 female yellowbelly and a 2013 male ivory.

They never hiss, not even the quiet huff of mild annoyance I usually get from the others if I disturb them while they're sleeping. They're both great eaters but they never go into feeding mode unless a rat is right in front of them. They're always calm and curious, never defensive, nervous, or even head-shy. The female is a bit more outgoing than the male (possibly because she's older, and much larger) and she loves to be outside when it's warm.

The yellowbelly produced a clutch for me 2 years ago. I still have 4 out of 6, and I've noticed that some of her offspring seemed to develop a personality like hers once they were over a year old. OTOH, the sire is super shy, but none of the hatchlings turned out shy like him.

This year the yellowbelly paired up with the ivory, so I'm hoping for a batch of super friendly balls. :)

That's awesome greco. I found this thread while searching for "head shy". My new cinnamon girl (unknown age, probably less than a year) just had her first real handling session with me last night and she was soooo chill I actually got concerned something was wrong with her. Im new to balls and worrry about every little thing though. She was not head shy at all and even seemed to enjoy it. She even let me rub some gunk from the corner of her eye that had been there since I got her. It was crazy. She's still active, flicking that tongue, and eating like a champ so I'd say I just got a real sweetheart on my hands

The BP I had years ago was like that, very outgoing and confident. Even from the first day I got him as a baby, he was curious and outgoing and not even head shy. Never flinched when I lifted his hide off him, and would often climb onto my hand when I opened his tank. He'd explore around while he was out, and when he was done exploring he'd curl up around my neck and go to sleep (or whatever it is snakes do when they aren't doing anything else) - occasionally I'd even forget that he was there until I went to take off my shirt to go to bed and find the collar pinned down. When I had him out, if I went in the bathroom I'd cup my hands under the running water and he'd usually take a little sip or two. He did pee on my bed once or twice, but I guess nobody's perfect. ;)

My new baby is a much more timid character, but he's slowly getting less scared of us. Hopefully he'll eventually learn that it's safe to go exploring and there aren't any predators around.

All four of our bps are super sweethearts. Our pied, Aurora will poke her head out of her hide everytime we come into the reptile room and loves being held especially by my fiance lol. All of our other three they dont poke their heads out of their hides when we approach their tanks, but they still love being held. Our male lemon blast, sherbert loves to curl up under my scarf if I'm wearing one and poke his head out lol

My baby bumblebee ball python kobe is very tame. As a first ball python I never thought he would immediately come out of his cage when i open it. When he's being handled he starts exploring and periscoping. When he starts corkscrewing in his cage when exploring i take him out of his cage to handle him and it actually seems to calm him down and he stops corkscrewing. I really love this little snake :)

This is what Valentine does!!! Anytime I go near her cage she wants to come out - huge attention seeker and she slithers right into our hands. My boyfriend jokes she's high maintenance like her mom lol =P. We have decided she is the only pet we will ever have and boy am I sure glad she's so friendly and curious. I didn't know it was such a rarity to have an attention seeker. Maybe one day I will take her to my nieces' class since they are learning about reptiles.

p.s. Quorra is such a cutie! I bet it's so nice to come home to her.
