i think that sums it up right there.

I don't know if I get like that. I've learned a lot of mental control growing up. as a child, I was supposedly ADHD. Though I eventually found, and moved in with my father. After that I began to learn to manage my thoughts to a higher degree.
When I do find something I truly enjoy, then I will research obsessively until I feel that I have a sufficient foundation of knowledge in the area, and then continue learning less aggressively. Anything else is treated with apathy for the most part.
Anywho, interesting thread, it makes a good read.

Nope almost opposite for me which is really a good thing. I have enough money to get me into some serious trouble lol. I would love to buy a new snake everyday and probably could but I truly enjoy all my snake and I try to have them each out and treat them as "pets" first I would love to make money off them if I could but I don't need it so it's not a big deal to me. I don't add another snake to my collection until I feel like I'm at a good enough point with the ones I already have ie, once I feel like I have enough time for them all and my family as well, knowing the cost of food each weeks since I won't ever keep rats in my house. I have a couple of friends who are like you and end up getting more snakes than they need and usually are looking for ways to sale some. Also I think I drive them crazy cuz they know I have the money to buy me some nice pythons but I just tell them no I don't need another right now... lol you should see the response and the well if I had the money... I'm not trying to bash anyone or anything it's just what makes everyone different. Now with in animate objects I do tend to get like that lol since I can use it alot then set it down and it won't care if I ever pick it up again or not.

My issue right now is with my bps, I love them to death don't get me wrong, but seeings how I have no more money to buy more I am getting kinda bored with them. However I do know I need to stick with this as it could open many doors for me, and if I sold them I would just want more.
Just wondering if anyone is as crazy as I am and a little ADHD and jump from thing to thing?

You just described me to a Tee. Before I got into ball pythons I got into comics. I spent well over $500 in the spring on comics and as soon as I was introduced to BP's I sold all my comic stuff to buy snakes lol. Before it was comics it was video games (I ended up with almost 200 games for my PS2 before I sold it), before that DVD's (still have over 1000) and before that it was BMX bikes (ended up with 10 of them). Pythons and Bodybuilding are the only things that I have stuck with/ am still interested in.
I feel like ball pythons are so much more interesting because there is so much more you can do with it. You start off collecting, you learn A LOT, and then you can breed and you can breed feeders, and than there are thousands of moprhs you can try and make or buy - To me its something that A) can have potential as a side business/ secondary source of income. B) are living things and have personalities and traits that make them interesting and reliant on you., and C) give me an opportunity to interact with different types of people.
When I would go to comic shows and comic stores I was an outcast because everyone looks the same, acts the same, and its hard to interact with people who are SO weird as a populous. Snake people come in a wide variety and are normally very nice and easy to talk to. People need other people in the reptile community as contacts to survive in this business so I find people are generally really nice and helpful.
I really hope I don't get bored with it!

I get bored until I watch a NERD video....then I'm good on the nonbored factor for a while. ;)

Re: Anyone like me?
your not alone, ive always been like that. what i do is buy something new for the snake, like a bigger tank or some decorations, and i obsess over how it should look for like a month or so. for instance, i ordered some stuff from petstore.com about a week ago and ive been going to the site to track my order at least once a waking hour even though i know it wont be here till the 3rd, and i stare at it trying to picture it in my mind lol. and im doing the same with the earings i just ordered (i miss my gauges), but they wont be here for like 2 more weeks, damn the anxiety lol

Unfortunately, this is a behavior I feel like I see all too often with snakes, and I'm sure some older members could agree with me on this. I have seen several members come and go over the years I've been here, and they all come in with the same passion and excitement for reptiles, specifically bps. Then, we see all of these big breeders posting pics of the latest and greatest reptile they've produced, which puts another thing on that "gotta have it right now" list. The typical person just getting into the hobby doesn't think about the amount of money and the years of work that went into producing that high end $10k morph, and the "gotta have it" mentality kicks in. They will go out and spend whatever right now to buy the hatchlings that will eventually produce this coveted snake, so excited about the end result. Then, the euphoria wears off and now they have two more snakes they're going to have to feed and take care of for the next 3 years before even STARTING to breed. Then, six months later when they are bored of these snakes that aren't breeding and producing the morphs, they're selling them off to buy a new boa or whatever the next "gotta have it now" thing is.
I just think too many people get their first snake and within two weeks, they've made these big plans of becoming a breeder of high end morphs, without taking the time to really consider what goes into owning and breeding them. It makes me sad to think about the snakes that could end up neglected and suffering when the "cool" factor wears off...
thankfully i dont get like this though, im able to keep enough interest in things that im interested in to keep myself entertained. snakes, body modification, and historical weaponry have always stayed interesting. but every now and them you need some new color or whatever you want to call it
