I live in Southwest Florida, only 30mins from the Everglades. I haven't heard one local story yet on the news or from anyone about any non-native snakes in the area or even close to it.
This 'snake invasion' stuff is absolute crap. I've been here for a little over 4 years now and there's no invasion going on. I frequent the wetlands parks around here (there are a TON) and the only snakes i've seen are native to this area.
B.S. is what HSUS is basing their claims and research on. I don't think they lifted a finger to do any actual kind of reasearch what-so-ever.

Lets see these people bring some actual proof. please there are PLENTY of other problems the gov can be wasting its time on God. This is simply another way to take away someones freedom in my opinion. :pee:HR2811

The problem is that they don't need proof or any sort of real science to get something like HR2811 passed. The committee is made up of politicians, for heaven's sake. All the HSUS needs to do is throw money at it and fearmonger up one side and down the other.
Re: whats going on with hr2811
until they actually post up a revision of the bill this legally still is all pythons!
what ever verbal agreements were made at this point are not in this bill.

Re: whats going on with hr2811
(lets not talk bad though about the WONDERFUL people that will actually make the decision on this bill, they might find us) I.....gotta....go.....:bolt:
Re: whats going on with hr2811
I'm somewhat disappointed to by the lack of info out on the bill, but I'm sure if anything in a week or so were going to hear some kind of bombshell news.
Re: whats going on with hr2811
Everything I have seen online says this bill is "To amend title 18, United States Code, to include constrictor snakes of the species Python genera as an injurious animal."
http://www.govtrack.us/congress/bill...bill=h111-2811
http://www.opencongress.org/bill/111-h2811/show
http://thomas.loc.gov/cgi-bin/query/z?c111:H.R.2811:
Yet people keep saying the motion has been amended to only include certain species. Can someone please share a link to an official site that substantiates this?

Yeah I heard they were teaming up with Manbearpig and honest politicians to wipe out the octogenarians that inhabit Florida.

We've already established ourselves beyond repair. The day man learned to farm back so many years ago in Mesopotamia was the day the invasion began. No other animal farms and creates surplus. They take what the land gives and that's that. We used to do it too, but with farming we put the power in our hands, and began to play God with the rest of the earth's creatures.
That was way off topic lol. But yeah HR2811, boooooooo. Arent we like, broke and in a time of extreme financial instability? When will politicians focus on what it is most important instead of what bills they can say they participated in to get votes. But then again, I cant complain. I dont vote, because I have a hard time choosing one crook over another.
