I am the kennel manager at a doggie daycare and boarding facility. Basically I clean kennels, bathe dogs, and spend a large portion of my day in a 3 acre field surrounded by 50-100 dogs and I get payed to play with them. Love the job, only real downside is the occational bite while breaking up a scuffle, well that and having to scoop dog poop 3 times a day!

Other than that, I'm 40 something and used to be a secretary. Worked in alot of different places. Now, I have a mini-farm with llamas, goats, lots of rabbits, ducks, hens, chickens, turkeys, etc. And I love it!

I am a Jill of all trades.
Started young, but then went into the US Navy as an Aircraft Mechanic on P-3 Orions.
Got out and did lots of things from Carriage Driver, Receptionist at a Mortuary, security.
My last position was the Asst. Director of a company called WFS (Women in Fire Service), The ED retired and I was left to run the company through a merger and a conference.
Here is the new site http://www.i-women.org/
I was with them for 2 yrs, when the Board of Trustees decided to move the office to VA.

I have been unemployed for a while, started babysitting.
And now I work for Pet Super Store. I just started there last Monday.
They have a good reptile person, but most every one else has left. The new asst. Manager is pretty clueless about most things, but is willing to learn. And knows when to say she doesn't know something, or to refer them to some one who does know.
I baby sit two days a week on top of that.

I'm an office manager at a local herp/exotics vet. Its fun. I just wish I was more in the back than in the front. I hate paperwork and would rather be with the animals.

    No Cable guys yet huh?

Well i'm a cable guy............No more installing though, i have moved on up. I basically handle the hardline cable that runs from pole to pole. I'm one step away from the Headend, which controls everything. i wrk the 4 pm to 12:30AM Shift, and you might think it's work to do at that time, but while your sleeping were fixing or trying to make your internet better/faster or tv clearer /worst :D

i don't like my job and i would like to finish school.......just don't know what i want to do.

24 years old and i have 18 credits in criminal justice ...... fun major but i don't want to do anything in that field.

Lol I get yelled at for train horns waking people up. Little do they know it's a Law that we have to blow the horn at every crossing unless they have automatic horn blowers. My company doesn't even have any of those.

well right now i graduated high school (i hated school ever since kindergradten, i climbed a tree and would come down cause i hated it) im working part time as a produce associate in a grocery store and have moved really far up in the chain of command. i will hopefully become full time when we transfer a guy and the day i get full time will be when i start produce assitant manager training and then become the youngest produce assitant manager our store has had or any one in the area to my knowledge. but right now im just deciding what i want to do for the rest of my life, i just dont wanna get stuck doing something i hate and less amount of school i need the better :)

The job that pays the rent...

I work for a custom lighting company. I design (uncredited) and build custom lighting.

I also rep a few exclusive import lighting lines (Spain, Italy, and the Netherlands) in Western Canada, but I live in Montreal (Eastern Canada). But being he indentured servant that I am, I also get to do all the CSA modifications and approvals before sending them.

    *YAWN*

To pay for snakes... I work PT in a lighting showroom. I give dirty looks to customers and I install lights. And get to utter my favorite qoute... "yes that is a good question, but you'll have to ask a salesperson. Now get OFF MY LADDER!!!

I also do academic writing and research but that is unpaid. Supposedly it helps me get a kicker CV, but what for I am not really sure. Being a family friendly forum I will not mention my research areas.

My resume, in a nutshell, complete with short commentaries, past to present:
waitress - sucked at it, very short career :colbert:
bartender - loved it & did it for better than 10 yrs :D
stay at home mom - loved it, but needed the $$ :rolleye2:
chiropractic assistant - boring, also short career :colbert:
    secretary - not a behind-the-desk gal, short-timer :colbert:
small critter & snake food breeder - great fun until I got pregnant with youngest son, then no time :gj:
aux. police officer - loved it, medical problem forced me to give it up :salute: :gj:
computer installer, fixer & supervisor - burnt out after 9yrs :O
detention deputy at an all-male facility - I LOVE MY JOB--where else can a woman get paid to order men around AND have possession of the tv remote? I work a lot with the juveniles that are charged as adults for the crimes they've committed--they definitely keep me young & on my toes! been doing this for 7 yrs now. :D :salute:  :gj:

That really is the best isn't it? Before I worked security I worked at a kennel - got paid to play with dogs all day... what could be better? Sadly enough the lack of hours, minimum wage and no benefits sent me looking for a new job.

    Still miss it though.

Its nice to be one of the main employees ( there are two of us, that run the store full time, and four other part timers, and then of course the bosses...)
