True, but I can at least say that it's plausible that they're het Albinos. I know he has a male Albino.

Even if they're not, 0.2 Fire, one around 500g the other around 700g, plus a bunch of random goodies for 0.1 Spider, 0.1 Normal, 1.0 Pastel, and 1.0 het Albino, all under 300g... Not a bad deal.

Well, there was mention of getting the police involved. He came in right under the wire on that one, too. Plus, I think he's trying to salvage his reputation. He's got a long way to go, but in the end Stuff does happen, we all make mistakes, and if he goes above and beyond to try to satisfy an angry customer then he may still have a future in this business.

I don't buy the "lost phone and no internet" excuse. He doesn't have any relatives or friends who have Internet access that he could use to take care of this? The local library has Internet with machines for use. If there is a will, there is a way. Be sure to keep all communications between the two of you, in case this is a problem and you have to prove your side.

I do hope that all of this works out well for you. It is a real shame that we have so many people in this industry who don't do things the right way.

Everything at this point is being taken with a GIGANTIC grain of salt. I'm definitely holding on to all communications, and the BOI thread is still there with them as well. Do I buy his excuses? Not really. In the end, though, if I end up coming out ahead on the deal it'll be worth it.

There's a big debate about whether BOIs are okay to post before a deal is done. But, if a seller misses a ship date and remains out of contact, I am on the side that a BOI is in order. Life happens, I get that, but for me when life happens my commitments know about it. You can't run a business on no phone calls and shorty customer service. It's just not okay.

The original trade doesn't even sound right. It's a steal in your favor. He's trading his ~$800 snake for your ~$400 snakes. Actually, female Fire Het Albinos are probably worth more than $800 because of their rarity. Do you have pics of the Fire and her parents locking? I hope it works out for you, but i wouldn't be surprised if she turned out to be a regular normal with some blushing on her head.

This is the fire het albino? This does not look like a fire to me at first glance. More pics would be needed to accurately determine it, but it looks like a normal to me.

Sorry, I don't see Fire at all in that pic. I see a normal.

If you want to be 100% sure, then ask for belly pics. Most Fires have clear bellies.

I hate to say it, but I'm pretty sure you seriously got scammed, even if he does send the snake/ snakes, i think you're getting a normal or normals for all your snakes.

Well, he actually gave me some provenance on them. He claims he bought them from Deb's Exotics last September. I've got a message in to them through their web site... is Deb a member here?

And for all of those that keep wanting to give me advice on getting my other animals back... I hear you, but to me it's worth rolling the dice on. I appreciate the sentiment, but I don't need any more advice asking those lines. Not trying to be rude, just don't want y'all wasting your time when I've already made up my mind.

Lol. Thats not rolling the dice imo. Theres not much of a gamble there. You've had 4 members who have experience and own fire gene animals tell you that it doesn't look like a fire. When you get the snake its not going to magically develop fire traits.

I looked at debs exotics website. She owns some albino stuff but no fires. My guess is, yes he bought that snake from her, but he bought it as a het albino. He then thought to himself "hey to my untrained eye this sorta maybe looks like a fire..." Then he tried to sell it as a fire het albino.

EDIT: i realize you said you already made up your mind, so ill drop it. I'm just trying to say that when you get the snake and it doesn't turn out to be a fire, please don't be upset.

There's rolling the dice and there's plain stupidity. I wasn't counting on him giving me a reference that immediately discounted his claims. That's just... I have no words.

I told him he needs to get the $400 he valued the original Fire het Albino into my PayPal account ASAP to have this end well for him. I've had it with the lies.

This is more struggle than anyone needs in a transaction. I'd reccommend sticking the morph "confusion" on the BOI, as well. No one else needs to go through this.

I've seen Deb's Exotics personally at the local Expo the past two years and i can confirm that she did not have any Fires or Albinos for sale. I don't know about Het Albinos though.

I've actually got a Galaxy S3 with an awesome Gameboy case... and the wallpaper is the back of a Gameboy. I love it.

Well, I got a box today containing my Spider female, het Albino male, and the fake Fire het Albino that is definitely a fake.

The box contained none of the extras he claimed he was sending, nor did it contain the $100 bill. Additionally, all the animals were extremely dehydrated, the heat pack had gone cold, and it doesn't look like they've even eaten since he got them from me.

That "fire" also looks like it very recently laid eggs (or was being starved). Basically, he traded you one normal for another and stole your pastel. People suck!

Agreed. I'm not entirely sure what I'm going to do with them on a long-term basis, but I set up a Quarantine room and will be making sure they get some food in them before I decide if I'm going to find them a new home.

It is pretty amazing that you got anything at all, but what you did receive is just ridiculous..

The dead heat pack pretty much sums up the quality of packaging to me. If it was a 40-hr shipping heat pack (instead of HotHands or something similarly inappropriate), then it should still be warm. If the shipper can't read the instructions to activate it properly, then he (or his mom) doesn't need to be shipping at all.

If the heat pack was ever good it was improperly placed, on the bottom of the box. Other than that the packaging was OK, but not that great. Box was way too big, not enough packing material, etc...

At the very least, you got back two of your original BPs and this other normal (I'd pop it to be sure it is female). You can also take with you that you've done the community as a whole a favor and made them aware of this character. Let's hope this closes the doors on this fledgling business venture of his.

I tend to agree. It was a pricey lesson, but not nearly as bad as it could have been. I will be making it my personal mission to see that he doesn't have the opportunity to screw anyone over again.

I will pop the Normal eventually, but for now I'm trying to let her settle in a bit. As I said to a friend of mine, "How would you feel if you were starved, then shoved in a box, arrived thirsty, then had some guy grab your privates and squeeze them?"... lol.

Anytime you buy/sell/trade with someone you don't know personally or is not a legit business it is a risk. I think most of us fall into the category of "been screwed" or "been lucky" when it comes down to it. Hope this is the first and last time for you.

Oh, and I totally agree with letting that "female" settle in before popping :)

After semi-following this thread. The packaging alone would put him on my "Don't Buy" list, and then add the fact that he screwed you over..... I hope you are able to get the $100 he promised you, somehow.
