^^^^ agreed but its still nice.
but no the attacking is being done and it is rude.
i dont care what else lush stands for but i do care about the tar sands and the effect on the habitats of the animals its directly influencing.
and slim,
come now,
read the posts, ive been repeatedly been dissed when the subject is not me at all.
thats also just plain dumb.

If you want to present an issue in a public forum, you need a thicker skin. Not every one is going to agree with your position.
And,
When you bring personal information into the discussion, i.e. the free products you get from Lush, then you really either need to have your crap wired tight, or you need to get good with the fact that the info will be used in the debate. No one twisted your arm to post that information.
-
I believe if you were going to post about this topic you should have used a different source of information. Thats like posting about a issue HSUS did a report on and then made a video.

I'm going to try not to get involved in the argumentative part of this thread because I'm not really up for it. I just didn't really see the need to assume people would make comments on your sexuality, because it wasn't relevant :/ If you would like me to make a comment, I will: Awesome. You're gay. There's nothing wrong with it and I wish I had more confidence, like you clearly have, to tell people.
We have Lush here, the natural products are great, but I had no idea that they campaigned against reptile keeping, so I probably won't go there any more. It seems they have exaggerated greatly and are making reptile keepers out to be heartless, uncaring people <---No way intended to be a dig at your boyfriend/husband or lump all Lush employees together. I applied for a job there myself a while ago, and had they asked me to stand outside or dress up as a chameleon and sit in a cage to campaign for something I don't believe in, I'd have taken my coat and walked out right there and then....WITH all their leaflets.

yeah i found out about the campagne at the time the python ban was happening.
sucks but i was ok with it because
well no i wasnt ok with it but couldnt do anything about it. was too late and didnt look into it because i was trying to spread the word and get people to sign the pettitions against the ban.
i have the skin to take the thrash but its just pointless,
and needs not be aimed at me,
alls i was wanting to talk about was the tar sands,

A point that is much more clear now than it was at the time you presented it.
-
Maybe I'm just tired, or I'm completely thick and missing the part where you explained...
But I still don't understand why you brought up your sexuality? It's not an issue that relates to the thread. I'm not looking for an argument. I'm just simply saying it was a little unfair to assume that people on the forum would jump at the chance to comment negatively.
-
No I brought it up just to turn some feathers and prove how totally off topic everything got.

Trying to "turn some feathers" probably isn't a clever idea.
By posting that comment as well, had anybody actually made a negative comment about your sexuality, it would have been you yourself that sent it off topic by trying to "turn some feathers". As you can see the people on this forum aren't homophobic as it seems you expected us to be.

Omg, it was to show how off topic the thread got and apparently still is. Not to say your all homophobes.<-- lol that word makes me laugh. Silly word.
My association with lush has nothing to do with the topic, but that subject keeps coming and causing slaps my way.
I've already asked to close the thread so I can post another one with lots of links to info in regards to the tar sands and better sources with lush included because that's how I first heard of it.
My hubby went to a meeting in Canada that gave him and I a whole slew of info about what's going on up there
Its sad. I really wish people could see what happened to the land they destroyed for a dieing resource that is causing more harm with its good
Good being a source of something we rely too heavily on

Gotta be careful with what you type on any forum not just this one or else be prepared for the slaps.

Hate to bump a thread like this when it turns sour, but I need to comment...
What's happened over 60 posts and 7 pages of discussion here is exactly the reason why nothing changes in the world.
Pulling tar out of rock and sand is absolutely insane. There isn't a soul on the planet that is properly educated on the issue that would disagree. The OP presented an important topic for people to be aware of. If you have a problem with the group that made the stupid YouTube video, go do some real research from someone that DOES have credibility to you. It's not a freak, isolated issue. It's a huge, huge deal. How can there possibly be 60 posts squabbling about the only detail of this thread that doesn't ultimately matter or influence the point of discussion?
-
Excuse me if I don't use the sensationalistic propaganda video that Lush made to educate myself on this issue...

It’s called Freedom of Speech... :gj:

Public posting, sorry if you don't think anyone should post on a public forum.
To the OP, oh I see. You're trolling. Nice. YOU brought up the fact you use the products, that your boyfriend/husband works there, that you are gay, etc etc.
No one here attacked you over anything, much less over any of that. People pointed out the group you're supporting is anti-reptile and that they wouldn't support such.
For the record, yes I do not use companies or products that I disagree with. Does that mean I'm attacking you again? I don't support groups that are against things I believe in. Is that an attack and off-topic?
If HSUS donates to MakeAWish, I'm not linking one of their videos on this site! If PETA supports a Military group, I'm not linking their video on this site! It's akin to posting a link to THIS site on a rat pet site. It's poor form.
Of course, the messiah complex means you'll find this a attack on poor innocent trolling you too I suppose. You choose to support a group that is trying to take away our rights to own reptiles as pets. That's YOU and what YOU'VE stated. It's not an attack to state facts that you yourself brought up, that you yourself typed and posted.

Thats what happens on PUBLIC forums if you dont like it then you shouldnt read any of the other topics because almost everyone goes off topic some how. I agree that I definately will not support a group by watching there video who supports taking away our rights to own reptiles. All Im saying is if the OP wanted people to listen a better source of information should have been presented. Like I said before he might as well posted a HSUS video.

I don't care about the group.
TOPIC OF TAR SANDS
THATS WHAT THE POINT IS.
Don't like lush? Start a thread and post about it there.
If you honestly could care less about what's going on with the topic of the tar sands,
Than by all means,
Explain why.

**sigh**
Ok lets try this afresh without all the distractions created by either side ( myself included ).
