Re: Pied..
pieds are around $1500 usually from what ive seen. If you dont know about ball pythons I wouldnt get one. Why spend the money if you dont even know how to take care of it, or if you even like them (being afraid).
You should take care of your boyfriends BP then. I still wouldnt get a pied unless you have the money and actually know about BP's.
- BTW: your not sposto share accounts.....

Re: Pied..
I have to agree that if this is going to be your first venture down the snake trail I'd suggest a normal or even a less expencive morph. Give it some time then if you feel comfortable sinking 1500.00 - 2 K in to a pet.. Go for it. But save your self the heart ache of having to learn on with a multi thousand dollar snake.
Just my two cents

Re: Pied..
Thats basically what i was going to say but it kinda sounds bad when your like "use a normal they dont matter as much"

LOL yea I'd just hate to see some one go through the learning curve of a first time snake owner (that we all went through no matter how long a go), With such a hefty investment. I mean there's a reason drivers Ed. cars are 4 door POS's.
To the OP the only reason I suggested a less expensive morph is because once you have the husbandry down yo can really start to enjoy the worry free enjoyment of owning a snake. You want to be able to fully enjoy a Pied or even a Normal with out the constant worry of "Am I doing this right".

Re: Pied..
Our first BP was a pied. Got her a month or so ago. She's my wife's and her name is Pumpkin Pied:

So, if you really want a piebald as your first BP, we're all for it!
BUT, don't buy one without educating yourself first. These forums are a great resource, and I'd strongly recommend getting a book too. We got The Complete Ball Python and read it cover to cover. We spoke often with our local reptile store staff who was also a great resource. And since we already had 4 corn snakes, we felt we were ready to take the next step to something more exotic. We've had no regrets and, besides, my wife was the one who wanted her, so what else could I do but go along with it? :rolleye2:
Best of luck!

i agree on this.
do research in and out.
i lost 3 normals before i step into buying a morphs. due to "i wanna get a ball, now.. dont care" attitude.. it all change now. price over quality, or is it quality over price.
