I have an Animal Plastics cage, and I think the UTH that they can install for you works just perfects. It heats the entire T3 cage. Just my .02.

here's my Coastal's setup.
I use a ceramic heat emitter for heat.

Re: carpet python setup post it!
personally i think AP's carpet cage is too small for anything but maybe a small male IJ... i think 4x2x2 is good for most carpets. UTH's work well if your room is warm enough, but if ambient temp is not upper 70's low 80's then i'd have an incandescent light of some sort as snakes really benefit from that type of heat... just my opinions of course.
Re: carpet python setup post it!
I have my IJ adults set up in the largest arboreal cage that boaphile makes. Both have radient heat panels installed, but I had to add a UTH to both to keep the temps up.
When my IJ's were much younger they lived individually in a tub setup like this, but much deeper.

Here's a close up of my female in the cage.

Although the hide is now one of the large freedom breeder hides..which may be too small in a few years. (water bowl not pictured).
Both of them hang out on the perch, but my female uses it more than the male does.

Wait so Carpet pythons don't require carpet as substrate? :rolleye2:
