Here we go again....

They are at hatchling weight. 58g. They are underweight. And one came in with a messed up eye. I was pissed.

Not rats. I was on hoppers and it scared them so I went down to fuzzed this round. I want them eating and I will move back up qiickly.

Update: boopit #2 has eaten 2 weeks in a row and also took 2 fuzzies. Next week hoppers and feeding 2x a week. The other two still not eating. One is under vet care.

keep up the good work! you're literally doing everything you can within very strict rules, and for boopit #2 it's paying off! i hope your employers recognize your dedication.

No doubt, good on you for doing the best you can. I honestly don't know how you do it. I couldn't work for a company that doesn't believe in housing their animals properly, underfeeds their animals and basically looks at living, breathing animals as dollar signs. I have both of the "major" big box stores within a few miles of me and I honestly hate going in to one of them. The reptiles, especially, are just in horrible shape in horrible conditions. It breaks my heart. I've spoken with a few employees, tried to help out a bit and they will basically listen until I shut up, but nothing ever changes. I've shown them care sheets and various things on my phone and they just don't care.
The other one at least tries based on what corporate allows, but I still can't stand seeing animals kept the way they are.

With the vast amount of knowledge at your fingertips that we as a society have available, there really is no excuse.

But anyway, good on you :gj:

i have researched for months while at home to educate myself and others. I go into other box stores and am also appalled. I'm like wtf! We do sell a lot of animals but I educate them in the process. I have also told people no, they are not taking an animal home. One being a person who rhymes with knaclemore lol. My store is one of the cleanest I have seen in terms of animals. I have gotten myself in trouble more than once because the animals needed care. I put my foot down and if needed throw a tantrum. Lol I never underfeed them. That was #1 that changed when I took over, proper size food. And when I get adult ft mice they will go up again. I only go down if they come in underweight or stressed out at the larger size. Once feeding is established back up they go. I wrote a book sorry. Oh and I do it because someone else won't. And I love educating people properly.

rules are fine but when I follow them and I'm told no....ya my boss doesn't like me when it comes to snakes. I'm like nope! My coworkers know that when it comes to snakes and the reptiles they come to me. Always! If some thing is wrong they text me. And they won't sell unless they talk to me. I didn't ask them to do this.

So update....the one with the eye cap finally ate today. I had to go down to a pinky. He wouldn't take fuzzys two days ago. I had to take used mouse bedding, put the frozen into the bedding and then throw it in hot water to defrost and warm. Took me a half hour of teasing the little man and warming the mouse again three times. He finally took and coiled it. We froze, turned off the light andvslowly backed out of the room. So...hopefully he will eat another on Tuesday. I also have to mist every hour to keep humidity up. I was adamant and would not back down.

The he other still is not eating. Both are under vet care.

I Will be be bringing little man home when I get it set up here. They won't charge me for him.
