    Thank you so much for your help! My python was a gift and, as much as I loved receiving her, the downside was that I was cramped for time when buying everything for her, so I didn't do as much research as I should have.

    I assume you meant your UTH was "thermostat" controlled not "thermometer". And make sure your checking the temperature under the substrate, not on top. The 100W bulb may be a little much, especially if you don't have a rheostat to dial it down. Other than that, try insulating the tank as much as possible to help contain the heat.
