Butter/Lesser/Mojave

Butter queen bee is a butter pastel spider. Some people differentiate between the two lines of the same gene. Which imo is unnecessary at this point. There are atleast two different lines of lesser and two different lines of butter and probably more. So that's at least 4 different lines of 1 gene with 2 different names.

I don't know why people think this stuff is confusing :rolleyes:

By lines, we mean:

Aaron discovers the gene in Albuquerque and calls it the A-gene.
Bob discovers the gene in Berlin and calls it the B-gene.

They are the same gene - both snakes will present with the same looks and the genes will act the same way when paired to other genes - but they are called different things depending whether they are descendants of the snake from Albuquerque or Berlin. :)

BUT!!!

If they're the same gene, can someone please explain this snake to me? How is this possible if Butter and Lesser are the same gene? Is this a "super" expression of the gene, but they're just not not calling it that in order to keep Butter/Lesser identified separately?

A Queen Bee is a Lesser Pastel Spider. A Butter Queen Bee is a Queen Bee with Lesser replaced by Butter. So a Butter Queen Be is a Butter Pastel Spider. They are just trying to let you know that they used Butter and not Lesser to make the Queen Bee.
