"Caramel albino" is the same as "caramel," just like "lesser" is "lesser platinum," ppl just say "caramel" or "lesser" because it's shorter.

I think before you want to get into breeding you should research a bit more and learn your morphs. Get a good grasp of the fundamentals.

Definitely; aside from this site (the links in some if the stickies are dead) are there any other good places I can try and learn??

i do know and have decent understanding of basic genetics and can manipulate Punnet squares of up to 2 alleles fairly easily...anything past that (and anything with regar to codominance I have trouble with)

Aside from this forum (which is FULL of helpful people and information), I honestly learned a lot just by browsing http://www.worldofballpythons.com/ and dinking with their Genetic Wizard. Check out "The Big Morph List" on there. Take the time to check out some of their articles too. Read, read, read and when you think you've read enough.... read some more! You can never have too much info on something if you're truly interested and ready to start breeding. You can learn a ton just by reading other people's posts on here (even if it doesn't pertain to you) and seeing the replies from members. There are books as well that I'm sure you can find on the subject.

I also tend to just Google different morphs I want to learn about. Lots of the bigger breeders have great info on each morph. I'd recommend checking out the basic genetics lesson on here, it helped me a lot.

However, I am going to be diving into it anyway with my girl Eve who is (imo) a very pretty Caramel Glow (Caramel + Ghost):

I'm also diving into the caramel glow project. I got a package deal on some hatchlings a couple years ago (RIGHT before the Ultramel came into the scene...go figure, lol) but I still think the caramel glow superceeds the ultramel in color personally. And my project is ready to breed this season (1.1 are locking now) so I am excited. I also have heard of the kinking being known in certain lines and inbreeding. I have unrealted pairs that come from lines without known kinks (supposedly ) so we shall see. I still love the caramel morphs though. One of my favorites!

I was just looking at some Ultramels last night. Ultramels can make some nice combos but they're a bit pricey from what I'm seen. I also don't think that Ultramel by itself is nearly as nice as the Caramels. Maybe not so much "not as nice" as it is "very different" and the combos look quite different as well imo. You can make combos with the Ultramel that do look more like a caramel glow but the ones that I've seen that do, don't use ghost in the breeding at all. I might get one eventually but not as a "replacement" for Caramels but maybe as something all their own. Eve's breeder also hasn't had many issues with kinking and Eve herself is perfect. So with some tips from her breeder and a little bit of luck, I'm hoping to not have too many issues with it either. If she does then she will just have a happy full life with me as a pet only animal. I hope you let us know how your breeding goes :).
