Probe flexwatt placement issue

Because that enclosure is probably ring used to house two snakes with a divider in the middle. That way you can have hotspots for two sides with one piece of heat tape

Ah, that makes sense. Thanks!

I find taping the probe to the top of the heat tape better than sliding the probe under the heat tape.
I've used HD clear packaging tape for years and never had an issue with a probe moving or heat tape coming loose.

This is a T8 from animal plastics, you can purchase a divider to allow the enclosure to hold two snakes verse one. The heat tape is in the middle to provide belly heat for each side of the enclosure when using the divider.

Excellent thought, I hadn't thought of using that kind of tape. I think I will cut the channel in up to the flexwatt depression (so none of the wire sticks up) then use the packing tape to tape the probe on top of the flexwatt.

I have AP racks and there is a channel already cut that I used for running the wire. Might want to check yours before cutting anything.

It's there, but it stops about 1.5" short of the slot for the flexwatt.
