I don't see why it would be an issue.
I have mice and ASFs in the same area as my snakes and they eat just fine.

Herpstat intro, it solves both problems, they are highly accurate probes (less than 1 degree error) so it can be used to check the accuracy of the accurite as well and very precisely control temps. the hydrofarm can still be used as a failsafe and IMO this is a necessary tool to protect the safety of your animal.

I never suggest hydrofarm as a primary unit. The problem is the new people whom have never used any other thermostat recommend them, most others who have used other brands, usually do not. There are a few whom tell people what they want to hear not necessarily what is best. They are designed for heating soil they don't need to be accurate or have a fine hysteresis. (the point over and under the set point the unit switches on and off) They also tend to swing due to the heavy probe and slow response.

If you have a heavy enclosure (like a tank) that reduces the swing, and a known accurate thermometer that can be trusted to solve the accuracy issues in a reasonably stable room temp (80ºF) they run ok. Sadly these conditions do not often go hand in hand with new keepers whom may use a tank but not have a stable room temp or own an accurate thermometer, few do most make do with cheap units and trust the thermostat. Sadly I personally own a good thermometer and have access to a number more and KNOW how bad some are. Some digital units are as bad as the stick on pet store dial types (my first accurite for example) I don't like accurite much they are about the same as all the other digital units no better or worse and in Canada (50$) they are stupid expensive and just over priced in the US (11$) I believe that in the absence of accuracy averaging works and to do that you need a few I pay an average of 3$ for the units I use so having many isn't a big deal. An accurate thermostat means you can use the T-stat as a base line for other thermometers.
