Okay, so can anyone suggest to me a more accurate thermostat and thermometer for a reasonable price?

Also, if anyone can offer any insight as to my problem instead of just saying what I'm doing is wrong when that's what I was told to do by 7 or 8 different people, that'd be much appreciated.
