This is excellent advice. I would only handle him if its absolutely necessary during this process. Once you are back on the normal routine, you can handle him more regularly again. Handling does not necessarily cause a snake to regurge, but it can add some stress which, if a snake is prone to regurge, can end up creating a problem.

Likewise, be careful adding new decor to his enclosure right now. Disinfecting is good, but new stuff can add to stress. Glad you corrected the temps, but let him relax and be at peace to recover these next few weeks then treat him to his new digs. He doesn't need any undue stress right now. ;)

Thankyou gj. New decor was just a larger version of his previous log hide but in the same position, i thought he'd appreciate the extra cover! Will keep you all posted after the first small feed in about 10 days. I'll put a pic up next time he's posing nicely for us, he's a gorgeous boy!

Actually, if the old one was not actually too small for him, you probably shouldn't give him a bigger one. Snakes like hidespots that are just big enough for them to fit snugly in. A larger hide can fail to provide them enough feelings of security and can contribute to stress. Here's the best explanation I've ever found on the subject:

The meal was regurgitated by lack of temperature. I remember this happening to my male super pastel once, but he only regurgitated half the rat... eww huh. Try to not handle your snake until atleast a day after it has fed. good luck
