Rescue for Bad Dog?

I would send him to animal control.

Sorry, but she's risking her kids being bitten in the face or permanently damaged by keeping the dog.

Some dogs ARE just biters. Not all dogs are able to be rehabbed. Most, yes. But if she cannot contain the dog and cannot find a rescue willing to take on a biting dog, she needs to send him to animal control or have him euthanized herself. Every day she keeps it in the house with her kids, she is being irresponsible.

It's possible the dog could be rehabbed with a professional trainer. It's equally possible that one of her kids will lose the use of one or more fingers, or have their face torn open before she can get the dog trained. I don't care if it's a toy poodle, it can do a LOT of damage before she can do a thing to stop him. He's biting for several reasons, and it will only escalate.

I checked into DogTown, and they are in Texas, so that isn't possible. The cost of in-home professional training is also far too prohibitive for a single mom. I appreciate everyone's input and help; she has an appointment in the morning to have him euthanized at her vet.

She is definitely concerned about the welfare of her children first and foremost, and has largely tried so long to work with him for their sake (they adored him most when she found him) - but now even they are saying he needs to go, and can't even try to play with him for fear of him reacting negatively.

Aw, they always drive cross country to rescue dogs :( so sad.

Just put the dog down, he's obviously not living a very happy life and dangerous to people, I'll never understand why people want to save every animal out there no matter how screwed up. Multiple bites, including stitches? Why would you want to risk someone else getting hurt by this animal just so it can live happily on a farm or some bs.
