School presentations are a great way to promote herpetoculture and clear up misconceptions about snakes. I do at least one school presentation every year, and I always see kids (and teachers) who are nervous and scared of snakes before the presentation totally turn around and want to hold the snakes and have one of their own in the end. It is amazing what a little exposure and education can do!

Thanks Everyone! I encourage all of you to talk to your child's teacher and see if it would be something they would be willing to let you do. It is great fun!

my sons teacher wanted me to do a show & tell with my snake but by the time i get it he'll be in a different classroom later this year. i would love to do a show & tell at my daughters school, she's older going into the 4th grade, but then again it would get her popular with the boys & she's already crushin' on a poor boy right now.

presentations like these are great, it looks like you had a great time.

I wish i had the opportunity to do more. I Iv'e done a few, my biggest one was last year around this time. I think I had over 300 visitors (it was a college thing) possibly more throughout the day. My booth opened early and closed late because so many people were interested in seeing the snake I'd brought with me. It was a huge success, it really helped a lot of people get over their reptile-related issues.
