Woohoo, Got a Pied at the Show Today

Got a nice Male Pied today at the Havre de Grace show today from Boa Barn. :cool: Nice amount of white, interesting saddles too. Got him home and he weights 335 grams. Pictures to follow in about 10 days. :snake:

As his agent, we'll schedule a photo session after he's acclimated to his new surroundings. You know how these high priced models are. Very high maintenance.:rofl:

Thank You. I like the little guy too. He's got some great character. He's fiesty, but as soon as you grab him he balls up. I missed a great striking photo. Camera couldn't change focus fast enough.

He's a big boy already.

Need to get him on the turbo quarantine process so he can meet some of your ladies.

Yeah, I think he'll be a great feeder. He was hatched out in August and he weighs 335, so he's be a lot like me, we don't miss too many meals. ;)

I think I'll be in the market for a little young lady of the same persuasion for this guy. I got him for such a good price, I couldn't pass him up. The great thing about buying from Boa Barn, is I know the breeder and I trust him. So, this little guy will only spend 10 days in QT.

I have to tell you I am such a green eye'd monster right now....I soooooo want one even though it really doesn't fit into my collection at this time. :rolleyes:

You know, I went looking for a nice female Albino. Well, I found it. At Boa Barn. BUT, sitting next to it was a couple of Pieds. My eyes went right to the Pieds, even after I held the female Albino and was ready to buy it. He gave me a price, I offered him a little less and he took it. Five minutes later I'm going home with a Pied instead of the Albino I went for.:rolleye2::rolleye2::rolleye2:

Well, I still have an Albino waiting for the weather to warm up. I'll get my little Albino soon...at least if the weather ever gets above freezing here.

The saddles are what sold the snake as far as I'm concerned. he's got a decent amount of white. I wouldn't call him a high OR low white Pied. I guess, he's just right. :gj:

LOL! My female pied is about the same age and was a little spitfire when I first got her...never struck, but would hiss up a storm any time I picked her up! And it took a good month or so before she stopped balling up in my hand every time I picked her up. Now, she's the first snake I go for if someone wants to hold one of my snakes...she's become so puppy-dog tame...I just can't believe she's the same snake!

Thank you. This little guy got warm from the trip home and he decided he was going to let me know who's boss. He was striking at anything that moved while I was taking the pictures. I went to pick him up from the back and whirled around and clamped on. He only stayed there for about 3-4 seconds, but it was funny. The wife (which isn't a snake person at all) stood there with her eyes as big as saucers. When he let go, I finihed putting him back in the tub. Not a big deal, but it was funny to see.

you may want to consider a longer quarantine,no reflection on the breeder but you don't know who or what he's been exposed to before you bought him,shows are a good place to get "something".

Show started at 9am and I bought him at 9:10 am. I do appreciate the concern, but I have complete confidence in Paul and Boa Barn.

nice looker I hopnigto prduce my own pied this year( by spring). I then want o work on a butterpied and a axanthic butter I think.

I just got back from the Austin show and I saw some nice pieds. Now that i think about it i think they had about as many Pieds as Pastels there. Yours is really beautiful. Wish I had the money for one.

Maybe one month we can have a get together at the show. We could meet in the cafe. The only one I met today was Mike from Outback Reptiles. He was really busy and didn't have time to talk.

Sounds great. Although I have 4 snakes, I've only been a snake owner for about 2 months. Yeah, I've got it bad. :oops:
