Be happy too! Also may as well explain blushing too while we're at it! Let's start with blushing and flames with this girl of mine:

See on her back between patterning there are areas that become lighter? That's blushing - the milk chocolate areas.

On the second and third picture, see between her side patterns where there's white coming up between the patterns? That's flames.

This girl is considered a reduced pattern due to her LACK of alien heads.

Here's blushing and flames on a pastel:

Her head and back have blushing (light gray in this example) and she also has a wicked flame on her side at about 11 or 12 o'clock in the picture - right behind her head, in fact.

Here's a picture of one with alien heads:

See the two dots in most of each side pattern? They look like eyes, and it makes the side patterns look like little Roswell aliens (thus a reason why a lot of people name their ball pythons Roswell).

    Hope this helps!

i feel like a kid in a candy store when i learn something new. thanks a lot, rabernet. i had read the index of terms before but these pics really helped. it took me forever to figure out the flames. at first i thought you were talking about the white border that seperates the gold from the black. then eureka, i saw the flames. kinda felt a little dumb there. like if it had been a snake it would have bit me, lol.

Us older folks still refere to them as "ETs". Remember the alien on the old movie, some look just like him. lol
