    hungry ball?
    Hi all!

I bought a BP from a friend of mine and she gave him to me in class today. I brought him home and immediately put him in the viv I had set up for him. I know that it's recommended to leave him be for a couple of days to let him get acclimated and indeed, he quickly found his hide on the warm side and settled in. About 1 hour later, he explored a bit and settled into his cool hide. Now, about 6 hours later, he's out at the side of the viv moving around and watching me.

I know he's due for a feeding and I'm wondering if I should just leave him for the recommended couple of days or if I can try to feed him a rat and see if he takes it.

I have a corn and I fed my corn in the adjacent room today, maybe he smelled the mouse that my corn was eating and now he's hungry?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated...

You answered your own question in the question. it would be best to wait a few days, even better a week. Your BP will be more likely to eat once it gets settled in an used to the new surroundings. Its a big ordeal for a BP to get moved around to a new home.

I know it's hard to wait, but wouldn't you rather wait a few days and have a successful feeding, rather than try today, have a refusal, and then get all worried about why it won't eat?

Now of course some people just can't wait no matter how hard they try, it may eat but it is more likely to refuse I would say. Also, if it refuses, then you'll just be more stressed and now wondering why your BP won't eat.

    this is good advice:gj:
