Shed Problem, Just ate, please help
Ok, I fed Vincent yesterday, as I've stated in a previous thread.

He had just shed the night before and I thought he had gotten all of his head except for the very back. Turns out, the front of his face didn't shed completely. I checked in on him today and it looks like he's been rubbing it on his hide all day.

I just checked in on him, when he's usually sleeping, and he's rubbing his nose on the top of his hide.

My question is, Vincent ate 24 hours ago, but his face looks like it hurts (no blood or anything like that), should I risk taking him out and putting him in a pillowcase or should I just wait until tomorrow?

edit: I know I kinda asked this earlier, but this time it looks like he'll hurt himself if I don't do anything.

It doesn't look like he's getting any rest just rubbing his nose on the inside of his hide. :(

That's what I figured, I just didn't know if he'd rub it enough to make himself bleed.

If he still has shed on his face, stick him in a shoebox tub with a lid, put some papertowels in the bottom and about 1/2" of lukewarm water in it. Put him inside, close the lid and put the whole container in his enclosure on the warm side. It creates a snake sauna and the shed will come right off. Leave him to soak for an hour, don't bother him. I've never had problems with shed not coming off using this method.

Yeah, he just ate though, i'll guess I'll wait. I just didn't want to see him rub his face too much.

He ate 24 hours ago. He'll be fine, especially if all you do is pick him up to put him in a small, closed tub where he will feel secure. I've never had a Ball Python regurge and have needed to soak them a good number of times.

Judging by my 1.0 male bp, and your 800.1200 bps, i'll take your advice.

You could also just give him and his enclosure a good misting. A bit higher humidity may well help him slip that stuck shed. If it's not fully encircling and is just a bit of old skin stuck on his head, then it's not even a real worry and can wait a day or two if you're concerned about bothering him while he's digesting.

Here's a couple of great stickies on the shed process and what to do if you get a bad shed.

*snortgiggle* Hehe, that made me laugh out loud. My neighbors are probably wondering what's going on.

I'm really glad I don't have that many snakes, oh my gosh.. *drowns in snakes*
