Thanks for the RI Help...UPDATE!
Yeah so thanks everyone for the tips on how to check for RI. So this is where my snake stands as of today. So I fixed his tub, changed all the bedding and let everything get back up to normal humidity. Put the pastel back in the tub. Today I see a stuck shed on him. Not to bad, but I missed his pre-shed dullness (He is a smokin pastel) and didnt boost humidity. Which also explains the weez! When I open his mouth like suggested I dont think what I saw was adequate signs of RI, considering this was my first look into any snakes mouth. So I as I see this stuck shed I notice his head was clean of the old shed, and when I listened to his breathing there was no more weez. Soooooooo... Should I chalk this up as a stuck shed, let him soak the shed off, and cancel my vet appointment and save the 130$ or bring him in just to make sure. Also he fed today! He has been off feed for a good 3 weeks. In my opinion I think I may have jumped the gun and just wanted to make sure my snake was fine. But I didnt post this to see my opinion in text. So comment this and let me know what you think.

If you saw stringy saliva, that is NOT normal. He needs to be seen by a qualified veterinarian, even if it's for piece of mind.

The thing is I dont really know what I saw, He is the most head shy of my snakes and I couldnt keep his still long enough to get a good look. I will definitly give it a solid once over tonight and give a mini update. I might even get a picture if I can get him to sit still.

Vet visit for one snake at $130.00! :O Does that include stool samples and other stuff or is it just a wellness check? Our Vet charges $60 for an individual snake wellness check. If you add a stool sample tack on an extra $50. It is difficult to get a look as you have to have someone hold the snake for you while you do it. Lucky for us my wife and I make a good team. Also with our vet if you take in more than one at a time the average price per snake drops to just below $50.
The price sounds high for a wellness check, but since you really do not know what you are looking for and you are having trouble getting its mouth open for a good inspection the Vet visit sounds worth it as long as the vet knows snakes and isn't some mammal vet that is going to read a couple books and look at your snake. :colbert:
Good luck!

I managed to get the snakes mouth open with the help of the wifey and a rubber spatula. I got a really good check this way and nothing even remotely odd. Nice rich pink mouth that looked no different then any of my other snakes when I catch them hinging there jaws after feeding. I guess I was just overly cautious and quick to jump to the wrong conclusion.I have checked for the weez 2-3 times tonight since soaking him to remove the rest of the weez. I wish I could figure out a way to rig a helix to a automated watering system so when humidity drops to low it will give the tub a little sprits. :). I am more than confident after the evaluation and talking to a local breeder over the phone that I was just scared. I guess I need to work on my husbandry skills and monitor humidity a little more closely. Haha one bad shed and I think my snake is dying.... Noob mistake:snake: But I am going to call my vet and tell him I am going to monitor my snake and ask for a open ended visit for wednesday just in case things go south for any reason. The initial first time visit is 91$ payed only once the first time you go. And I dont have to pay again for any reptile once I have payed this, only the cost of medical procedures medication yadda yadda.
