A lost (and found!) snake story
Just felt like sharing a story of a lost snake and how I found her a bit later.

A while back, I moved one of my boaphile rhino racks to a new location. I guess one of the dividers popped out of the grove (I was using the small sweaterbox sterilites) and provided a gap big enough for one of the animals to get lose. The animal was lost in my room for around a week. It was feeding day and I had some live rats that I was going to pre-kill and feed, but while prepping one, the hemostats slipped and the rat gets loose.

Great. Now I have a lose Juvi ball AND a live rat in my room. I feed everyone and finish things. A while later I hear an odd sound, some rustling, then a squeak. The squeak was that of a rat being ambushed. I suspected the lose ball had found the rat, but thought that was a long shot. A bit of time goes by and I hear the rustling sound again. This time I pinpoint where the sound is and I find the rat... and the ball python. The loose ball python caught and ate the loose rat.

I retrieve the ball who is nice and full and place her back in her drawer.

Thought it was kind of cool how finding the loose ball python went down. :)

That is pretty amazing. I am glad you found your snake and your rat (although the rat might disagree).

There has been a few times when I was using live rats to feed and one would get loose. Most of them where small rats. So I went out and got some mouse traps, seeing as the rat that drove me to set traps was still small. Well, those did not work, rat kept setting them off and getting away and so I got some victor rat traps. Those did do the job.

With a loose python and rat in my room, I could not set the traps because my luck the ball would find the trap before the rat did.
