This family found a 6-foot python in their pantry during quarantine
Wow, I never find cool snakes in my house

A snake catcher in the state of Queensland was called out to a house after a python was discovered in a family’s pantry. Initially the catcher believed it was a “small carpet python,” which is a sign you’ve been around big snakes too long — before discovering it was actually a monster.
Another sign you’ve been around snakes too long is when they lunge at your face like they want to kill you can all you can say is “Really?!” and shrug at them. Seriously though, this is a masterful job at removing a snake from a home. The snake catcher explains what he’s doing, why the snake is acting the way it is, and how he can get it out of the house, while calmly throwing remarks around like “I’m going to try and not get bitten,” like it’s nothing.

That was a big one! Pantry-pythons sure can make a mess of your shelves, Instead of risking a bite to his face, what I'd have done is to offer the snake a length
of 4" (diameter) PVC drain pipe to hide in...I bet he'd have happily taken the suggestion, & then the pipe could just be capped temporarily & later just laid on the ground
for the snake to leave gracefully on his own. I have removed a few snakes too in my time, lol. Rattlesnakes though, not "pantry-pythons".

I love the videos of Aussies finding carpet pythons on their stoops, in their pantries, in their sheds....I swear, Aussies have all the luck.

I also enjoy seeing this. From what I see, most Aussie folks react properly. Rarely do you see frantic behavior. They seem to calmly notify the proper services and simply have the snake removed.

I'm not certain of the of the exact statistics, but a whole bunch of homes there, in various areas have "a special guest" living in their attic or garage rafters.

These snakes show an incredible amount of adaptability and adjust well to human encroachment.

    Thanks for posting up!

I sure HOPE that's the norm there, but maybe it's all we see because those rescuing reptiles like to film & educate others, while ppl who over-react & kill snakes don't always plan so well to document their melt-downs. :confusd: I dunno, just hope you're right.

I'm sure we see the best of the best.
I used to frequent and Aussie board and they do seem a little more in tune with their native animals, but there are folks there like anywhere that just can't stand snakes.

I did generalize, but I too hope its more of the norm down there, depending of where you live there, I'd expect snakes to be very much a common occurrence.
