    just going through the rack...
have i introduced you guys to my new addition?

it's a 10-shelf rack (backheat)! it may be ugly, but it's from craigslist and it works and it's mine. [emoji28] the guy i got it from said he knew/saw the first Banana/Coral Glow morph in the US! i believe him because...well why lie? lol.

for the winter i had to give it a coat: ive got the rear sides covered with 1/2" insulation (styrofoam) and the back panel is covered with this 2"-thick industrial grade aluminum-covered insulation panel my dad got from work and cut to size for me (thanks pops!) it's the only thing keeping my back hot spots at 90° F; without this panel it only gets around 80° F.

    Beautiful, all of them !!!

And hey, with a little work, a rack like that can be great !!

I once made my own, out of Melamine. It did have a back and sides but it ended up being SO VERY HEAVY I never made another one, LOL !!!

It was heated by heat tape going up the back , 2 stripes. It was just a hatchling rack, put together for that "surprise" clutch my huge rescue female laid. But it worked really well !!! As long as you didn't have to move it, LOL

with its fancy coat, it runs perfect! hahaha. i plan on coming up with a more permanent solution, but for the winter this will do.

my other rack is melamine (hatchling/32qt, 4 shelf) and it's SO HEAVY. i actually looked for a "cheap" rack like this bc i know ill have to move again soon; the fact that i can lift and move it on my own is awesome!

    Looks great T!!

I use the same insulation (just the 1/2" version) for my glass tanks and it works wonders. It's not the "best" look, but it does the trick. Helps my electric bill too.

yeah before the weather turned i didn't need anything additional with it. then winter hit and i tried running a space heater, and that just wasn't worth the cost of the electricity.

it may not be the prettiest rack, but my snakes are happy and so am i. [emoji4]

If it makes you happy, that’s all that matters or better yet serves your needs (the rack). Lol. And you definitely got a couple of lookers in that collection.
