I believe it to be a Northern Water Snake (Nerodia sipedon).
    Correct me if I'm wrong.

Common water snakes have very similar subspecies, but I believe can be identified by in which region they are found. Visually very similar.

Found this guy while on a bike ride today. Went to pick him up and he was already deceased. Any idea what he may be?

I assume that all the snakes in this thread were found in Georgia, USA. If not, please correct.

Pictures in post #1 in this thread: Looks like a northern water snake to me, too. Not venomous. A cottonmouth's head would be an equilateral triangle.

Post 5: A young corn snake (Pantherophis guttatus). Not venomous. Mouse eater so to good to have around. Often kept as a pet. Too bad he was dead.

The neighbors are freaking out because this guy was found near the house. Most are claiming it’s a copperhead but hard for me to tell since the picture is a little grainy. Any ideas?

Looks to me like a harmless & beneficial prairie king snake (Lampropeltis calligaster) but can't be sure with that photo.

Not seeing the whole snake...there's other possibilities too, like a cottonmouth or a water snake. I'm not exactly sure
what water snakes are in your area, but they often resemble cottonmouths & get killed for that mimicry.
