Congrats on your new snake. So much fun anticipating their arrival.

Just be sure to have the setup all ready to go. Make sure temps are where they need to be. Give the new snake a good week with no interruptions to get acclimated.

    Best of luck to you

    Awesome! Congrats!!:gj:

Make sure your setup is good to go and you should be off to a good start...

My advice is get some good pics during and after the unboxing. Then, let him settle in. The temptation is tough, but try to pretend he's not there for the first week. Just daily checks, water and that's about it.
Once he's a bit settled get a meal in him and let him digest for at least 24 hours. After that, minimal handling is ok, but it's still best to hold off. Get another meal in him and if he's accepting regularly increase handling sessions but still don't over do it.
I like to make sure my snakes readily accept 3 meals before I do too much handling. So far I've had good luck and they have all accepted their first 3 offerings. They at all sweethearts too.

Good luck and don't forget to share some unboxing pics before you put him in his enclosure!

Have you cleared out your walk-in closet? Have you built racks into the walls? Have you bought a heater to maintain ambient temps? Have you added another 25 snakes to your wish list? No? I think you're off to a bad start.

LOL no walk in closet to clear out (house built in 1926 before such grand things), the only reptiles that could fit in mine be common lizard, but yes I have a brand new Train heat and AC (nothing stops a train), & there are three , (leopard clown, pinstripe albino, and a Blue Eyed Lucy)okay I try harder ;)
