    Ghost pairings?
I have a Female Ghost, she will be a year old the end of this month. I'm starting to look into breeding Balls, and I know she is wayyyyy too young but if I started collecting ones her age I'd be all set in a bit I think.
So my question is, what would you pair with her? I'm still trying to figure out all the genetic stuff and I'm not finding anything really to do with Ghosts.
    Thanks!

I'm a fan of ghost champagnes (Mimosas) as well as Black pastel. Here's a clutch I just hatched with a Black Pastel Ghost and a Black Pastel Ghost Yellowbelly.

Thank you! I checked out pics of Mimosas and they are so cool! I need to look at Black Pastel still.
I don't see a pic of your clutch, sorry.

Its a recessive so your male should be either a visual or het at the least.

Personally True Ghost is the next on my list to make.

Okay thank you! So if I'm getting this right, I could take my Ghost, and say an Albino, then some of the babies would possibly be visually Albino, visually Ghost, and the Albino would be het Ghost?

Bigfish1975 wow, that's a pretty clutch! Thanks for sharing with me. :)

Not exactly. Both Ghost/Hypo and Albino are recessive genes. You need an animal that expresses the visual morph, or is double heterozygous, meaning that the animal needs to have two alleles of a given trait to express it visually. For example, Albinism. A "het" is an animal that caries the gene, but it's not expressed visually. This animal has a 50% chance of passing on that genetic if it's bred to a visual of the same recessive morph. In your example all of the babies would be "double het" crying the genetics for both Ghost and Albino, but not be visuals of either.

Of course all of this is based upon memory from high school Bio way back in the day, so your milage may vary but I think I'm right.

^.... This. Then you would want to hold hack all the double het babies and breed them together and hope for the Sunglow. :gj::gj:

Thanks Crowfingers. I'm really happy with how this clutch turned out. Can't wait for them to finish shedding.
