Anyone else keep carnivorous plants?
I've always been fascinated by them but I don't seem to have the knack for keeping them alive for very long. I just picked up a few more Venus Fly traps to replace a couple that had a terminal white fly infestation. Anyone have any advice on how to keep these going for more than a year?

Maybe there's something like that you need to do with the flytraps?
I had a pitcher plant too last year. When it started to die back I stuck it in a Styrofoam cooler and put it in the garage (I'm in MN and even in the cooler it probably got too cold). A little over a month ago I took it out of 'hibernation' and started watering it again. Nothing... It's deader then dirt, I've been watering a bare pot for a month now. I've been to several carnivorous plant sites and have been reading up but just can't seem to get the hang of it.

I've always wanted to try, but pretty much any plant I'm around dies. Hope you have better luck than me!

I do not have carnivorous plants, i love all plants and i realx whe i take care of them (i have two vegetable gardens and many flowers) so i will try with Venus Fly Trap, one of my favourite carnivorous plant. I give private lessons to a girl who keeps a small pot of Venus Fly Traps, they are still young but they are pretty cool to watch, especially when they eat insects :D I even tried to put my finger in it by triggering terminal portion of the plant's leaves like a prey would do^^ I want to try.
