Cloudy eyes?

I just got a male ball python and yesterday I noticed his eyes were cloudy.I got him on Thursday and up to yesterday his eyes were perfectly normal.

Its sort of hard to tell from this picture but that's him.
He is one year old and about two and a half feet long, other than his eyes he is healthy and active. He doesn't show signs of having sight problems but I'm just concerned.

This is my first pet snake so this might be a normal thing...but it might not be so that's why I'm here. I had him out yesterday and he was going around and about not showing any signs of cataracts (if snakes get that).
But I read a little about if a snake had cataracts and they said you would be able to see it behind the pupil and since its the whole eye I don't think that's it.

Since I just got him I haven't fed him and he hasn't shed yet so I don't know if either of those is effected.
I spray his tank fairly often because the humidity has been low, but its starting to get higher which is good. He spends most of his days in his rock which is much more humid then the rest of the tank. At night he's active so he's a pretty normal ball behavior wise.

If you know anything about his eyes please tell me because I really don't know what it is.

make sure the humidity is bumped up to around 65-75% during this time until your BP sheds to ensure a smooth shed process.

also, they're pretty much blind during this "blue" stage so dont handle them if you dont have to.

generally signs for an upcoming shed will be:
belly has pink tone
colors dull all over
eyes go blue (cloudy as you refer to it) this is called being in blue
within a few days BP will be out rubbing on rough surface to peel shed, allow them to do so then clean the tank.

overall around a 2 week process, give or take a few days.

Yeah , as above ....

Nothing at all to worry about , they are all slightly different but yours will probably just look a bit paler , hide away for a few days and then the eyes will go clear again and the skin will will look a normal colour ... it will shed the old skin in the following days , just up the humidity until the snake is more lively and you either see the old skin lying around or you find it under the snake hide ...

Thank you so much! I did a lot of research on housing a ball python and always meant to look up the shedding process, this was very helpful because I noticed he had fading scales and a pink belly and I was really scared that he was going to die or something so thank you 😆

I recall my first snake going into shed mode ( Corn snake ) ... days later it emerged looking back to normal and I searched everywhere for the shed skin :).
I was real confused when it 'appeared ' days later :)

Sometimes I think that my snakes wish that they were dead during the blue, they just look and act so uncomfortable. I totally leave them alone during this time.

Good to know, I'm already handling him as little as possible so he can get used to the tank.
