BEL combined with other genes. Question about pattern??
Hi everyone.
I've been wondering about this and can't find information to help.
When breeding snakes where each parent contains one of the genes from the BEL complex, among other genes. How do you identify whether a BEL is just a BEL or if it contains something else.
For examples, breeding - spider mojave x lesser pinstripe.
Will the pattern show up under a blue light? If so will this work regardless of what the mix is ?
I know with some mixes from the BEL complex the snake doesn't end up plain white so then its a bit easier to identify.
Might seem like a very pointless pairing though. I do understand why people would avoid a situation like this. I am just curious.
While browsing around i ran into the "SUPER MOJAVE SPIDER PASTEL VANILLA" on worldofballpythons. http://www.worldofballpythons.com/mo...astel-vanilla/
Here I'm assuming if the pairing was something like - super pastel mojave x super vanilla mojave spider (just an example) . Its clear that a plain white(or almost) snake that pops out will be a super mojave pastel vanilla. But, how do we know about if also being spider?
Thank you for any input. Also if you have any pics of Blue Eyed Lucy's with other genes as well. Please do post!

I took a picture of one of my Lesser Special BELs that may contain Pastel or Enchi, and simply turned up the saturation, and turned down the brightness. You can see all the yellow banding. My other Lesser Special did not have this patterning.

Found the other pics! The first one is the Lesser Special that has no patterning. The 2nd one is another shot of the one I showed in the first post.

Thank you for your input. Any chance you happened to look at those guys under a blue light?

I did, but I wasn't able to really see a difference. It was too bright lol. But no problem. I'm extremely skeptical of WOBP snakes, as often times photos are submitted in the wrong folder, people incorrectly identify their morphs, or people are too ambitious with the number of genes in the snake .
