another rant :<
 i get so mad when i see people on social media posting pictures of their snake with stuck shed, and they say "oh the witto baby iz shedding!" uh, NO, that poor baby TRIED to shed, and you failed at husbandry so now it has a giant piece of old skin stuck to it.
also when people post pictures of two baby bps housed together and they're on top of each other and the caption reads "cutest babies cuddling!", then when you comment on them in the nicest way possible to let them know that they are in fact, not cuddling, they tell you that you're wrong and that you don't know anything about snakes..
i'm not a snake expert and i have so much more to learn, but i've been taught by the bests on this forum <3 <3
also, this is my favorite forum in the world. there is no other forum as accepting and as open as this one
random rant. sorry, forum. T__T no one gets me like you do.. :P

I know wat you mean. Some fool i work with said he kept his BP in his room to roam free. Je said that he liked to hang out near the vents. I told him he was probably tryin to stay warm and he said he didnt think so. He told me he had it for a year and it died of old age. I almost punched him in the face.

A long time ago I was also bothered by these things. Unfortunately, there more things for me to worry about and grind my teeth in my sleep due to stress.

These stories are sad. Poor things: prime example of people not researching anything before taking on the responsibility of a new animal who DEPENDS on you to live.

Things I never get tired of hearing from people when they hear I have a snake:
"OMG U AREN'T SCURRED OF IT EATINGZ U IN UR SLEEP?!"
"No, a) that's not possible, b) if someone's not holding her she's in a secure enclosure."
They then proceed to tell me something along the lines of 1) the snake will be able to bust through the enclosure like the Hulk, 2) they can't believe I or anyone else holds her because what if she bites us and we die from the super-lethal venom of the boa constrictor, 3) we are the stupidest people in the world because don't we know EVERY snake grows 40 feet long and lusts for nothing else but human blood, which they know because they watched all the Anaconda movies and are now snake experts.
NEVER GETS OLD.

Re: another rant :<
My friend was holding a normal burm female and no matter how many time I asked if it was a burm or retic she would say normal. Then tried to argue me about her corn snakes cuddling too. All 3 of them

stuck shed everywhere
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L83j1s9VU0I <--- EDIT: <--- watch this
this video displays some stuck shed nightmare. i mean really, who could let that happen? i mean, these reptiles are built for survival, but they clearly have stuck shed like tree bark, how can that work out?
yes i know im being sarcastic and snakes are different, but really.... calm down, a partial shed will not harm a snake. and if you dont give them a huge environment with grass and sand and decomposing wood and plant thicket and rocks and so on, you may worry about the eye caps because maybe they have no way to solve the problem with just paper towels and plastic around them.

LOL this has happened to me so many times, and i have a little baby. i always have to say, if i got bit on the arm by a dog with a nasty scar to prove it, im pretty sure i can handle a little snake with teeth smaller than a hamster's.. which i was also brutally bitten by as a child. blood everywhere!!

LOL i was confused when i was watching the video. 'is that.. a large cut..? or... dried mud? ..... shed?!' i understand that a partial shed won't harm them, but when theyve got a huge chunk stuck around their neck or on the side of their body, it's really frustrating to see.
i guess the same goes for cats and dogs.. and rodents. especially the ones that live in their poop. :(
