Question for rack people

So I have a rack system from C Serpents and I swear I have like 40+ holes in my tubs, front & back & I even had to add 4 on each side and I still can't get the humidity in the 60's. Any help guys/gals would be greatly appreciated. I'd rather avoid having to put more air holes in them, though I will if I have to.

What bedding are you using, how long has it had to air out, and what diameter are your water bowls?

I'm using Aspen, very thin layer and I let them all air out this morning for like an hour and I even dried the inside of the tubs with a towel to make sure.

The smaller ones have a 5" diameter water bowl and the 700g Bee has a 6". The 5" was the smallest.

I would let it go longer. For me it seems once an accurite has seen high moisture it takes a long time to settle back down. I have seen a huge jump from evening until the next morning. Just out of curiosity have you checked the humidity outside of the tubs?

Have you tried cross-checking with a different hygrometer? What is the actual humidity reading?

Yea, humidity outside of the tubs is in the mid 50's.

I know that acurite can be annoying to get to level out but the first one I had was defective and the only thing that made me check it was the fact it never moved, so I took one from my other snakes to check and that's when I realized the humidity. So I went to Wal-Mart and swapped them out and got another one, so it was never put in high humidity. I normally pull the battery out to reset the high humidity reading.

Maybe since your natural humidity is in the mid 50s, with that water bowl in there it pumps it up just enough? Is the water bowl over the heat tape? If so, move it to the cool side. I'm sure you have already tries this, but just throwing it out there.

I don't think you'll get them any lower. Per google, the average morning humidity in Baton Rouge is 88% and only drops to 56% on the afternoon. New Orleans is 88/61.

Yea, well as long as I can stay below 70% I'm fine. I just never actually used a rack system before so it's very challenging to get good humidity, especially because it's in the summer.

No, I never put the water bowl close to the heat tape, it's always on the opposite side, but thanks for still touching on that to help double check my list.

Yea, I don't think I will that's why I said as long as it's in the 60's I'm fine. Stupid Louisiana.
