average weight of a 4 foot BCC

Well i was able to handle El Diablo a little today while i had stuff cooking in the kitchen. I cannot believe how much he has calmed down. i still am on my toes around him but he is completly different.
i never got a weight off him when i first got him but he ate a 30g rat sunday. I knew it was going to be hard but i got a large tub ready and got most of him in it. he was not holding on to anything and came in at.............. 392g. He is 4 foot long and on the thinner side but i dont think too think with the weight like that.
On average what should a 4 foot boa come in at?

My male BCI was at 390gm a year ago. He was about 8-9 months old and 3 1/2 - 4-ish feet at the time.

My female BCI was 488gm at that time. She was about the same age, but probably closer to 4 1/2 feet. But she's a female and had hit a growth spurt the month before.

My girls are very 'svelte'.

They can chow down on 3 rat pups at a time so I was told to try small rats which they inhaled and still begged for more.

How much can they actually eat?

So far, nothing they've eaten have left 'lumps'.

I wouldn't feed them more than ONE appropriately sized prey item every 2 weeks (for adults, 7-10 days for babies). It is a practical impossibility to underfeed a boa. Overall, they do better on smaller meals. If your prey size is too small and you are feeding multiples, you would never see a lump no matter how many you feed - they don't double up inside the snake (picture them in the belly in a straight line). So you can be overloading your snake without realizing it. Boas are feeding monsters, as you know. And they will always "beg" for food. That doesn't mean you should feed them more though. :gj:

Oh, my.

I know two little girls who are going to be very unhappy for the next few days.

They're still 'babies' in that they're probably not even two years old and long and skinny.
[about as big around as a 50 cent piece and maybe 3 1/2 feet long]

Saturday is feeding day and they're already antsy and displaying themselves prominently and dramatically every time I go by their houses.

[I'm just going to tell them what you said and blame their 'starvation' on you]

This guys is mostly a fall 2011 baby. He's approximately 1000g. He's outgrowing his small rats.

I was thinking these girls were adults. At that age and size, you can feed every 10 days. Still only ONE prey item! But that might help placate them a little..... :D

Eva Marie spent the day in Meal Martyr Position, stretched up the full length of her tank...staring accusingly whenever I walked by.
[Veronica did the same last night but eventually gave up]

Oh yea, feed them every 10 days. Sorry, I really thought they were much older and bigger! They are very cute..... :D
