Is it okay to put my ball python in the grass outside?
I have a beautiful adult female ball python. I feed her F/T. She has been outside before and my sister likes to put her in the grass and let her crawl around. My mom put her on the tree and she liked it. However she had a very, very non-threatening case of mites one time. I don't actually KNOW if it was mites but I figured it was because I looked in the cage and saw something spider-looking bright red with creepy-crawly legs and everything. It wasn't the size of a pencil dot like mites are so I really don't know for sure because it was bigger than mites are, it was about 3 centimeters.
1. Do you think it was a baby spider looking for warmth or a mite?
2. Is it safe to put her in the grass or will she get mites?
P.S. Other than that she had no OTHER signs of mites however I treated her anyway.
