Help Sex This Albino Ball Please? (Popped Photo)
So I just got this ball today.... the person I got it from said they where selling it because it was sold to them as female and ended up being probed male. I popped it when I got home, and I am not expert at all... I am just learning how to pop snakes but it looked an awful lot like I female. I was wondering what your opinions where? I had my boyfriend take pics but he can't use my DSLR very well so here is a pic, let me know if you need better I just didn't want to pop him/her again.

Here is the issue with popping pictures, unless you are proficient at popping it can be difficult to tell from a picture simply because the person viewing the picture does know if you are applying enough pressure and/or if you are positioning your fingers properly.

I have seen people in the past not being able to evert the hemipenes yet had males.

Well I know something is coming out on the right hand side if you are viewing it or left hand side for the actual snake lol. It's just such a small bump I have no idea if its a sent gland for a unmature hemipene. I have an adult lemon pastel and I have practiced popping him and got his hemipenes to pop out no problem but they are huge and red. The little balls hemipene/sent gland is all white/clear no red... so it makes me wonder also it's a fairly small bump but I have been watching so many videos, but some unmature balls seem to have small white hemipenes.... so it has me really confused...

PS: So I guess what I am saying is I have no idea if the left side (right side for snake) is actually popped but I have confidence the right side is... I am just unsure if it is a hemipene or not.

Check out this short article from VPI , has some good pictures what you should be looking for.

Keep in mind that popping or probing most likely isn't any more pleasant for the snake than it would be if someone was doing that sort of thing to you so don't abuse the snake by trying over and over. If you think you need to check again give it a day or two so that it can relax about a crazy predator playing with its privates. :P

Hard to tell from pics what kind of pressure your putting on and where, but you seem to be getting a little something out of the right side. From pics alone who knows what that could be.

Thank you for the link. I saw this site and he/she looks /just/ like that female however I was also watching a popping video on youtube and it looked just like a male on the video  so I was hoping for some expert eyes advice. I am thinking maybe he/she is too young to have developed sent glads like the female on the link and he/she has smaller hemipenes than I am used to seeing so it actually is male but from all the photos I have seen it looks female.

I don't know how to explain how much pressure I am using but it's enough... I was just holding him/her popped for a while so one side started to go back in however I know that right side is fully popped I just know don't if that is a immature hemipene or a sent gland.

I've watched a ton of videos and I still can't do it. I posted a forum and everyone said that I wasn't applying enough pressure. Then I almost did it on my m albino and he had diarrhea all over me lol. I'll just trust that he's a male. But I just can't do it!!! :tears:
