IRIS Rat Tub Finished! (Pic Heavy)
    Tada!

    http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v9...f/IMAG0725.jpg

Unlike my old Sterilite tub, I couldn't hang my water bottle on the IRIS handle. I had zip tie my own handle into the side

Had to patch this opening up for sure. Everybody seemed to enjoy roaming the 'upstairs'.......

Little girl discovering she could no longer escape...

It's nothing fancy, but I still feel rather accomplished. :)

I feel confident that my rats won't chew through the zip ties. They're pretty content with just running in the wheel to keep them busy.

    Thanks for looking!

Very nice! If you do find them chewing the zip ties, I used the metal wire strand that was tied around the wire mesh.

You can "stitch" the wire onto the top using those holes and some thin wire(braided picture hanging wire works too) and similiarly, use a piece of wire to form the loop to hold the holders for the water bottle.

Love the water bottle hanging idea too. Brilliant! I was trying to think of how to do that. Do you have anything protecting the hole that the water nozzle pokes through?

I stitched wire through my older small tub. It works great! (just really time consuming)
I was just lazy and went w/ zip ties this time around.

I don't have anything protecting the water nozzle hole just because my rats don't seem like chewers. They didn't chew anything when they were in their old smaller tub. I may go back and reinforce it w/ a washer or something though.

Thanks! I didn't want to push the metal water bottle holder through the plastic tub...Didn't seem like it would catch right, so had to think of something else. ;D

I used monofiliment to stitch the screen onto a lid like that for a cricket bin.
